Orville and Wilbur, the Wright brothers, always dreamed of flying, even at a young age.

Their favorite toy was a toy helicopter, powered by a rubber band. Even though they were young, they were still fascinated by the mechanics of it.
When they grew past children, they worked in businesses together. From printing photos to making bikes.
As they continued to grow, their dream of flying never died.
Gliders and aircraft without engines already existed, but the Orville and Wilbur Wright wanted to make them better!

Before they could start to craft the airplanes, they needed some help. Specifically from the Smithsonian Institute in DC with their knowledge of aeronautics.

As they were creating their models, the only way to ‘fly’, was to use a glider, which has no motor and cannot go far.
They decided to test their machines at Kitty Hawk, by the oceanside dunes with constant breezes and soft, sanding landings. The perfect place!
It was hard for many people not to be skeptical of them and their work. Many doubted them.
Even they were skeptical at times. If the plane never works, it will never help or make profit, and if it does, what if no one is interested in flying or they feel it is unsafe? If people just want to stay with the gliders, their work would go to waste.
