Today was the day that Mr. Rylan had spent weeks preparing for. He finally was getting to pick up his newly adopted dog, Marlow, from the animal shelter.

Marlow could hardly hold in his excitement that after two LONG years in the animal shelter, he was finally going to be apart of a family! Marlow was so glad that someone finally realized that even though he was an older mixed breed dog, he had a heart of gold!

Mr. Rylan was so excited to show Marlow his new home while showering him in all the love and affection he missed out on while staying in the animal shelter. Marlow was so excited to meet his new brothers and sister. Mr. Rylan told him that their names were Rufus, Sadie, and Jasper. Mr. Rylan was sure they'd love the new addition to the family.

Sadie, Rufus, and Jasper are Mr. Rylan's three dogs he has now had for two years. They are purebred Pomeranians. Mr. Rylan had to pay a lot of money for these fancy dogs, and they definitely live a lavish life style.

The time has come for Mr. Rylan to introduce Marlow to his new brothers and sister. As soon as they enter Marlow's new home. Sadie, Rufus, and Jasper run to the door to greet Mr. Rylan.

It was all going great. Well at least until Sadie, Rufus, and Jasper caught the first glimpse of Marlow standing by Mr. Rylan at the front door's entrance. The three Pomeranians came to a sudden halt.

Mr. Rylan introduced Marlow as the three Pomeranians new older brother. He just assumed that the dogs were all nervous, and that they just needed some time to get to know each other. Mr. Rylan then left the room.

Marlow was quick to introduce himself. He was so excited to have two new brothers and a new sister. He had waited so long for this! Sadly, the other dogs didn't feel the same. They quickly shut down Marlow's happiness.

"He's old. He's not a fancy purebred Pomeranian like we are. He's a mutt from the shelter. He's not like us, I don't know why he's even here." Marlow heard Rufus, Sadie, and Jasper whispering about him behind his back. Marlow quickly felt like it was three dogs against one.

Even with all the hurtful things Marlow just heard about himself, he wasn't giving up. With such a strong desire to fit in with the other dogs, Marlow is willing to do anything it takes to be accepted by his new siblings.

Marlow knows that deep down in his heart, he's just like the other dogs. Even if they didn't come from the same background or look alike, Marlow knew he belonged and he wasn't going to give up.
