Judaism

Leader and Beginnings
- In the Torah, God chose Abraham to be the
"father" of the Hebrew people.
-In about 1800 B.C., Abraham and his family
made their way to Canada, along with their
herds.
-Abraham once again decided to move in 1650
B.C., this time they moved to Egypt.
-In 1300 and 1200 a man named Moses led
the Hebrews out of slavery.

Holy Writings and
Guidelines

Torah
In the Torah it is believed that Abraham was
chosen to be father of Jewish people by god. Torah
contains the basic laws of Judaism. The torah is
basically the first five books of bible, it recounts
resources of humanity and Judaism.

Influence of Beliefs

The Hebrews changed their lifestyles from
a nomadic, tribal society to settled herders,
farmers, and city dwellers. Then they
learned new technologies from their
bordering peoples in ancient Palestine.

Christianity

Leaders and Beginnings
-Jesus was one of the greatest leaders. He was born in Nazareth
in about 4 to 6 BC. At the age of 30 Jesus began preaching,
taught, did good works, and performed miracles.
- In 29 AD Jesus visited Jerusalem. crowds greeted him as
Messiah, or king-the one who will rescue the Jews, according to
the bible.
- When roman and Jewish leaders saw Jesus popularity the
sentenced him death. According to his followers Jesus came back
to life after three days.
-in AD 70 the Temple complex in Jerusalem were destroyed by
the Romans.
About half a million jews died in the path of the rebellion in AD
73.
In another attempt to break free of the Romans led to the death
of another half a million jews, in AD 132.

Holy Writings and
Guidelines

Bible
Gospels, the First four books of the New Testament
of the Bible were the main source of Jesus
teachings. His teachings contained many concepts,
such as monotheism, or the principles of the ten
Commandments. Jesus stressed on the importance
of people's love for god, their neighbors, their
enemies, and even themselves.

Influence of Beliefs

Followers of Jesus grew more faithful after Jesus'
victory over death. Christianity included all people.
It gave hope to the powerless. It offered a personal
relationship with a caring God. People prayed to
Jesus, believing he was supreme

Hinduism

Leaders and Beginnings

- It all began with the Aryans, who spoke Sanskrit.
They settled in India before 2000 BC. It is unknown
where the Aryans originated from.
-However, minor kings arose amid the Aryans, these
people wished to set up territorial kingdoms.
-The major kingdom of Magadha ha expanded by the
second century to include most of the Indian
subcontinent in the South. During the greatest epic of
India took place. It was called the Mahabharata.
