This is called a Nebula, it makes and produces stars. It forms them out of dust and helium, like Patrick here. This is an exciting life for Patrick.

There are two roads that a Patrick can go, he can go the big way which are giant stars or the small way which would be an average star. Patrick here is a giant star, so he will take the big road. Which starts out as a big star.

The next thing that our friend Patrick will become is a Red Supergiant, he has consumed his cores supply of hydrogen. He looks like the sun but much bigger and a darker color which is mostly red.

Now Patrick has become a supernova, this happens when the star runs out of power which also stops the fusion of the star when gravity counteracts it. A supernova is one of the biggest explosion known to man kind.
