Sally works as an engineer in the laboratory of genetically modified organisms located in Boston. Recently, products such as strawberries, watermelons, bananas have been altered with sugar content, different taste and modification in the appearance. This processes had caused an increase for success in Sally’s work. However there are people that argument that the products genetically modified could affect a person’s health negatively. Thousands of studied have been made to prove the consumption of this products and Sally keeps on saying that all products created in the laboratory are safe to use. She is aware that as everything, GMOs has its pros and cons. People that are against this idea think that this foods are created in order to increase the commerce in the world market but Sally insists this processes are only made for the well being of the population in the world including the environment.

Last month, a letter from the mail was delivered to this laboratory. Everyone was talking about it, in TV, at newspaper, in magazines. Sally knew it right away when she arrived to work that something was going on wrong. Tom, Sally’s friend and director of the laboratory told Sally that they had received a demand on one of the products they had created. This demand stated that a 4 year old boy was diagnosed with a dangerous allergy due to the consumption of genetically modified bananas.

Scientists like Sally are still testing different crops for the use of edible vaccines. This vaccines are meant to act against host diseases such as hepatitis, polio and malaria. What scientists created last week was the GM Banana. This Banana was first created by the laboratory of New York. Like the Banana, fruits can serve particularly as storage media for edible vaccines. Sally examined original Bananas and she discovered they were a good source for this experiment because they have strong skins that function as sterile barriers against contamination coming from the environment.

After performing various experiments, Sally found out that a certain number of the genetically modified bananas obtained more quantity of the chemical to make it taste better. It turned out that the bananas destined to go to Walmart were lacking one of the steps in the process of modifying. These types of problems happen very often when experimenting with natural products. Laboratories should be aware that this processes should be made with carefulness and caution. Otherwise, people could be imposed to danger while consuming this products that are destined to be for the well being of society.

Sally and the whole laboratory took the responsibility of the demand. They know should become more careful regarding the processes they perform while modifying an organism's genes and inserting other products inside. However, scientists will keep on searching for new methods and techniques for the population’s necessities
