Leaving for Preschool!

Kai and his mom are playing with his toys in the living room.

"Mom I can't wait for us to go to school tomorrow!" said Kai. He has always been with his mom so he thinks shes going to school with him.

As Kai gets ready for bed, his mom asks him "what are you most excited for?". He says "I'm excited to learn!".

Kai and his mom arrive to the school. "Hello, I'm Ms.Boyd" says the teacher. "Hello Ms.Boyd I'm Sara and this is my son Kai" says Kai's mom while he smiles nervously.

Kai's mom says bye and gives him a kiss on the forehead. "wait mommy where are you going" says Kai with a sad look. "I have to leave I love you" says Kai's mom.

When Kai's mom leaves, he cries for the rest of the day because he misses her.

He doesn't participate in any activities.

He doesn't talk to anyone.

And he doesn't sit with anyone.

It's finally time to go home and Kai can't wait to see his mom.

As Kai and his mom walk home, she asks him how his first day was and he stays quiet

"I don't want to go back because you aren't there with me" says Kai.

"It will be okay. you just have to try to make friends" says Kai's mom as they walk to their car.
