The sun is shining brightly on a beautiful day. It's the perfect day for a round of golf. Grab your clubs, and let's head out to the course!

When you get to the tee box, the first thing you do is introduce yourself and shake hands with the people you are playing with. You will be with them for a couple of hours, so it's important to be friendly!

I grab a golf ball, tee, and driver out of my bag. On the tee box, I set my ball on a tee either in line or behind the tee box markers. Make sure you don't tee up in front of them.

Once the ball is teed up, I take a practice swing or two. Then, I look at the target to know where I am aimed. I set up to the ball, and BOOM! The tiny white golf ball soars through the air before landing on the fairway straight ahead. The fairway is the short grass between the tee box and the green.

Now it's time to take a walk to my golf ball. Once I get to it, I look and see how far I am from the hole. Normally, there are markers on the course that measure 100, 150, and 200 yards to the green. That helps me determine what club I will use. Everyone hits their clubs different distances, so you need to learn your ability.

The order of clubs that will go the longest to shortest is driver, woods, hybrids, irons, and wedges. You'll notice that there are numbers on the clubs. The lower the number, the farther the ball goes. For example, a 5 iron will go farther than a 9 iron. The higher the number, the higher the ball goes in the air.

Back to my bag, I decide to pull out a 7 iron. I take a practice swing or two, look at my target, and hit the ball. Oh no! The ball bounces into the sand trap. This is also called the bunker. I walk up to my ball with confidence though because sand shots are nothing to be afraid of!

There are specific rules when it comes to the bunker. You cannot take a practice swing in the sand. You must take it outside on the grass. In the bunker, I cannot ground my club. This means I cannot lay my club on the sand when I set up. I have to hover it behind the ball.

I take a big swing making sure to hit the sand, and my ball pops out and onto the green. Before I can go to my ball, I have to rake where I was to keep the bunker looking nice!

I grab my putter and walk to my ball on the green. The green is the area where the hole is. It has the shortest grass on the golf course, and it's where you putt. Before you putt, you want to read the green. This means looking at the way the green breaks, or slopes.

Once I read the green, I know where I want to aim. I line my putter up behind the ball and send it on its way to the hole. Dink! It disappears into the hole. Par!
