I am Adventurous
i wonder about everything
I am like an elephant, listening to every story
I see wonderful sights
I want to travel
I am courageous
I pretend to know it all
I feel like a fly in this vast Universe
I worry I won't achieve my goals
I cry if I can't see the world
I am full experience
I understand many things, yet still want more
I say that people should travel across the world
I dream of visiting every nation
I try to travel
I hope to see the world
I am an explorer
I Am Adventurous
I Am Adventurous Reflection:
This poem is about being adventurous, if you couldn't tell by the title. I used multiple metaphors and similes throughout this poem. There isn't any background truly needed for this poem, except the knowledge that I love to travel and explore, hence the theme of this poem being adventure. I wasn't trying to create a specific effect with this poem, mostly just me writing something that I believe is super fun.

"Kyle Brown"
- Kyle
- Nerdy, tall, somewhat intelligent, friendly
- Brother of Dylan, Son of Christie and Bill
- Lover of Good Games, Many Movies, and Cool Comics
- Who feels excited, happy and joyful
- Who needs food, water, oxygen
- Who gives respect, attention, headaches
- Who fears snakes, death, and the unknown
- Who would like to see the trenches in France, Berlin, and Greece
- Resident of California
- Brown
The reason why I wrote this poem the way I did was because it enabled me to tell what I wanted to say inside the poem, and because that is what was required. I used alliteration during this poem, as well as some sarcastic remarks, which isn't a poetic device but fits the description of me better. There isn't anything that needs to be known to understand this poem.
Bio Poem Reflection
"By the Fire"
- Grabbing my jacket
- I walked out towards the fire
- The Motorhome’s porch light shining the way
- Seeing my breath,
- I watched the sand act like Fog
- Sitting down, as my dog barked next to me
- I watched my friend take off her gloves
- The fire cracking as the flame burnt the marshmallow
- Listening to the riders hiss past, I unwrapped the chocolate
- And enjoyed the taste of a delicious treat
Highlighted words are from Gary Soto’s poem “Oranges.”
Recreation Poem Reflection
This poem is about a person at the desert, just enjoying their time by the fire, creating a smore. The poetic devices used were personification and onomatopoeia. The only background knowledge that needs to be known would be information about the desert, like that you are allowed to have fires and such.

Down below the ground
July 28th, 1914
Out of Style tactics Damning them all to Hell
July 28th, 1914
The Great War had begun.
"The War to End All Wars" Reflection
This poem is about the "Great War" itself, World War I. In order to understand the poem, you would need to have a basic understanding of the First World War, like the assassination of Arch-Duke Franz Ferdinan being an excuse for the nations of Europe to go to war, and the basics of trench warfare. The point of the large amount of repetition is to drive home the point of the starting date. The reason why I picked this topic was because I felt like the First World War is forgotten due to the popularity of World War II.

Definition Poem
Adventure: [ad-ven-ture] Noun, Plural: Adventures
an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity:
When I awaken in the Morning to begin the day
To explore life’s wonders, and travel away
Across land, air, and sea
As the lands are full of wondrous sights to see
Trailing tall trees, climbing colossal cliffs, exploring the world is not a simple feat
But it is a challenge well worth to beat
Being in this small yet vast world makes you realize that you are the captain
Yet who knows what will truly happen?
Definition Poem Reflection
The story of this poem is what I believe the definition of "adventure" is. This poem, to me, is too similar to the "I Am Adventurous" Poem, in my opinion. That doesn't make it bad, but it doesn't help its case. I used some rhymes at the beginning of the poem, and used alliteration throughout the poem.
Limerick
I once tried to get on a train
It turns out it was a great pain
As it went flying by
I let out a sigh
And decided to walk home in the rain.

The point of this poem is to be funny. I see myself as a comedic person, but only in certain scenarios, and writing is not one of them. I am at my funniest when I say a sarcastic comment in the moment, and am least funny when trying to write a situation down. This made creating this poem difficult for me, since limericks are supposed to be funny. That being said, I don't think I failed at creating this poem.
"Limerick Poem" Reflection
"An Ode to Metal"
Oh, “lovely” metal
The heaviest music genre without a doubt
Telling tales of war, drugs, and death
Warning the future, or retelling the past
The stories are dark and gloom
about how we will lead us to our doom
The stories are awesome
With the solos so grand.
Not batting down from the realistic truth
And still having somber moments
From being Caught in a Mosh to traveling Into the Lungs of Hell
For as long as something bad remains, metal will be there to criticize
"An Ode to Metal" Reflection
This poem is about my favorite music genre, metal. An unpopular opinion, I believe that metal is able to discuss things that most music genres can't. In the poem, I mention two songs, and use a small amount of rhyming in the poem itself. Although I love the subject matter, this is probably my least favorite poem on the entire anthology.
