This story is written as a common work of our 'English Cafe' E-twinning project.

Before you read the story, I should warn you. It isn't a happy story. So, if you are looking for a happy story, close the book and put it down.

My name is Anthemis and it is my story. It happened when I was a child. I was living in a Titan Kingdom called Ingentis Coleum. Our house was by the forest.This is where I'm getting to my point.

One day, I was walking on a path in the forest. I saw a bunch of shiny blue mushrooms with red spots on them. Since I was a complete greedy, I didn't hesitate a moment to eat it.

But, when I took a bite, I felt something weird in my stomach. I started to hiccup. Everytime I hiccup I got smaller until I got 15 m tall. An ordinary Titan would be 60 m tall but I was only 15 m, which meant I was a DWARF Titan. It wasn't easy for me, I got bullied because of my height. The other Titans would make fun of me.

One day, While I was crying in my room, the moon turned red. A strong wind blew the curtains away. And I saw her, she was sitting at the window sill. The red rose petals were flying around her. She was my fairy god mother.

And she said: “Oh, my poor girl! What is the matter with you?”. I told her everything and she handed me a special purple potion. 

And said: “ My beloved goddaughter! Don't be upset. I understand what you feel. Drink this and any of your dreams will come true. But remember, just one”

I really didn't know what to wish. On the one hand I wanted my family to live a happy and long life...But on the other hand I was tired of my ‘ tiny’ Titan life.

I took a sip. That was a strange feeling. I thought I became invisible for a moment. And then I fell asleep

I saw weird dreams. Some green dragons...Some huge flowers, rainbows and spotty mushrooms.

“Anthemis! Anthemis!” I heard my mum's voice.

I wanted to say a word but I couldn't.  

I looked in a puddle and saw my reflection in the water. 

Oh, no! I turned into a mermaid. I was a purple mermaid with long red wavy hair and big blue eyes. Oh my Godness! I had even a fascinating tail and I had no longer legs. I wanted to wake up and this nightmare to be over. But it didn't. I started to cry. The puddle was full of my tears and got bigger and bigger.

Then it turned to a big sea. I struggled with the waves. Suddenly a huge whirlpool swallowed me quickly.

When I was in the deep sea, Iwas shocked because I saw an enormous gate. There was writing on it :

' Welcome to Underwater City'

I passed through the gate and I couldn't believe my eyes. I saw the amazing view of the city. Everywhere I can see was full of jewels. I couldn't see anyone inside.

After I strolled a bit around the city, I saw a something shiny in a big shell. I got closer to it. I was attracted to it. I couldn't take my eyes off the ring.I had never seen such a charming ring before. I wore it on my finger. There came out an enormous genie. He said:

My lady! Tell me your wish. I'm your slave since you wore the ring'

Oh! I was astonished. Then I told him my story and said:

‘Once, I was a Titan in my country, then I ate a mushroom and I became a dwarf. After that, I drank a potion and now I’m a mermaid. I don’t want to be a dwarf or mermaid anymore. ‘ 

Suddenly, I turned into a human being.I had my legs again. However, I didn’t have any idea about the life of human beings. I didn’t know where I was. I started to observe their habits. But I was shocked. 

People were fighting against each other. While some people lived in wealth, the others lived in poverty. It made me sad. I was afraid of being a piece of this life.

Suddenly, I felt a pain on my head. I turned back and saw a man with a wooden stick in his hand. I got fainted. After a while, I regained my consciousness. I heard someone was talking to me.

‘Hey, Lady Are you okay? Wake up please’

‘What happened to me?’ I said. ‘I don’t remember anything.’

While I was looking around confusedly, I noticed that my ring wasn’t on my finger.

I looked around again for finding my ring. But I couldn’t find it. I thought the man with a wooden stick stole my ring.

Suddenly, I remembered the statements what genie said me. I had to find it. I stood up in a hurry and started to run. 

I tried to find it and I never gave up looking for it.

One day, while I was looking for it again, I saw a ring shining like mine at jeweler’s window. I went towards it. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was my ring. I was so happy. I immediately walked in.

I knew the jeweler won’t give me it without money. So, I had to lie to him and asked,

“Can I try that ring?”

The jeweler said to me, “Sure, lady. You can wear it.”

Then, I wore it on my finger and the enormous genie suddenly came out again. I was so excited.

I said to the genie, “This time, turn me into a titan, please. I don’t want to be a human.” 

And the genie said to me that it was impossible to turn back into old form.

I was disappointed but as I was quite tired I fell asleep. When I woke up I noticed that I had four legs.
