Once there lived a family of five horses...

... and one unicorn.

This unicorn's name was Max, and Max did not 

like being a unicorn. Everybody else had black, 

brown, or tan fur. Max had white fur and a 

horn on his head. He hated being different.

The horses made fun of Max because he 

looked different, and Max was hurt by their 

jokes.

Max knew he needed to tell the horses to stop 

teasing him, but he wasn't sure how. He didn't 

want to sound mean, but he also didn't want 

them to make fun of him for trying to stand up 

to them.

So max decided that he would tell the horses 

how he felt when they made fun of his horn.

Max realized that he should not have been 

afraid to stand up to the horses. 

The horses began to accept Max for who he 

was.
