Team,
As you read through this book, I hope that you look back on your Fifth Grade Year with fond memories. This was written by you, for you. That is the beautiful thing about memories they are yours and can never be taken away. I truly cannot pick just one favorite memory about my 2018-2019 Fifth Grade, because there were so many. This didn’t just occur by accident, this occurred because of YOU! You are the ones that made the class fun and exciting you are the ones that made me want to come to class every day.
You are the ones that made me say things like, “Where is your brainprint? What were you thinking?” And, “Really? Really? Is that really going to get you to Sixth Grade?” I told you on day one that by the end of the year that you would have 26 brother and sisters and that we would truly become a family; and we did. I also told you that in nature when a baby bird is ready to leave the nest that sometimes the mother bird will kick the babies out when it is there time to fly. As we end this year it is now your time to fly. All of you are more than ready to move on and do bigger and greater things in your life.
During this past school year, yes, I have taught you things like Math, Reading and Science. However, I hope that you remember the other things that I have tried to teach you along the way, like be a problem solver, don’t let the little things ruin your day, be an honest and kind person and help each other.
As you move forward, you will encounter new challenges and new celebrations in your life. There will be times when it is easy and there will be times when it will be hard. Just always remember that everyday is a new day and a new beginning and make the most out of it, because this great big world needs more great big kids like you with amazing hearts. It has been a privilege to have been your teacher this year. You have taught me, more than you will ever know. And most importantly, “Don’t Ever Forget”
Love, Mrs. Peggy Shaskan

My favorite time in 5th grade is when we did the home made ice cream. That was so fun, the ice cream was a little salty from the salt that leaked from the bag, but in all it tasted really good.

People say that Mrs Shaskan is the best teacher ever but she is way beyond of the best she is more than just a great teacher she is a strong, beautiful, careful, and I bet an amazing mom. Mrs. Shaskan doesn't just teach us she cares and does fun things to help us learn. Coming into 5th grade I was scared, I was not ready and I was afraid I was going to get yelled at but Mrs. Shaskan was nothing but help to everyone even when we got on her nerves. There is always one teacher you will never forget and even though I'm only eleven I will never ever forget Mrs. Shaskan. And don't ever forget... your special Mrs. Shaskan. - Ella Pace
You are the best class I had.
