Religion Assignment- 2019

Introduction
Carrying out good deeds helps us have a better life. Have you ever performed one consciously or unconsciously? Today I will be sharing with you how to live a good and moral life. We can do this by staying away from sin, doing good deeds, knowing the consequences of our actions and trusting in God.

Good deeds are actions that we perform that have a positive impact on us and everyone else. These actions can affect our attitude and well-being. Good deeds can also pull us away from sin and if done on a regularly can also become a habit. Sin is a bad action we intentionally do; this can influence what people think of us and can turn us away from God, instead of towards him. Sins have a negative impact on us and can affect how other people behave. When we act out a sin, it can also be because of what others think and want us to do – peer group pressure.

O
The Tenth Commandment says “You must not be envious of your neighbour's goods. In other words, “Do not envy your friends”. If you don't follow this Commandment others may not want to be your friend, you could have a bad reputation and tension with others. One of the Beatitudes says, “To be quiet and listen”, this will help us to do good things and learn from our actions. If you “obey” your teacher, you are in turn showing them respect. The Golden Rule - treat others how you would like to be treated. If you follow this Golden Rule it will have a positive effect on yourself and others; they will want to be your friend because they know that they will be respected and not mistreated.

Nerd!
You're dumb
You’re with friends when they start teasing someone, taking his things and calling him names. If you stick up for him, the group could turn on you. You start to slip away, but someone throws you the boy’s backpack.

CATCH!
Here you go!
If you were a good person, you would give the boy’s backpack back to him even if this means your friends could turn on you. Your friends are not “good people” if they bully and tease others. You need to stand up for what is right and what you believe in and not let your bad conscience take over.
You're in the middle of an intense video game. Just a few more points and you'll beat your high score. You hear Dad say it's time to turn off the game. The game's loud, so it would be easy to pretend you didn't hear. That way, you could finish the game. What will you do?

Dinners ready, time to turn the game off!

Coming now!

In this scenario you should turn off the game and help your dad. Afterall, it is only a video game and it won’t affect your life if you stop playing. The Fourth Commandment reads “Respect your father and mother” –if you do this you will in turn have a better relationship with them and learn to listen to them.
GOOD IMPACTS

The impact of living good life on yourself is you will have a better connection with God and yourself as a person. You will feel better after doing good deeds. By strengthening the connection with God we gain more respect and care with him and others.
