Hi guys, and let’s open this book to read...
Chapter One
The Hallow
‘I’m scar-scared,’ Elijay whimpered.
Looking out from the trees, Quan spotted skeleton branches that were reaching out of the darkness. They were empty, dull, and sharper than knives. Those branches pierced through their halloween costumes as they ran there. Quan had lost his steel hat, Elijay had lost his ghost mask, and Joshua had lost his cat tail.
Just as terrified as Elijay,
Quan took a deep breath as spoke as calmly as possible, ‘There’s nothing to be afraid of. It’s just the Hallow, we walk by this everyday.”
‘Everyday yes, but this is Halloween Night!’ Elijay whispered, trying to be as quiet as possible.
‘You know the Hallow is haunted, right? People say if you play in these woods, you’ll come across kids. Those kids will come and play with you, and they never let you leave. Then you become a ghost like them. That’s why you don’t go into the Hallow.’‘Most likely a story! And stop it, you're scaring Joshua.’ Quan snapped, annoyed.
‘Are the ghosts going to get Connor?’ Joshua trembled.
‘No they are not, there’s no such thing as a ghost.’ Quan said, calming him down.
Joshua said, ‘I want to find Connor and go back home.’
They shuffle deeper and deeper into the Hallow, and many times, Quan heard the sound of Connor’s barking, deep into the Hallow.
They ran and burst into a clearing where nothing grows except a thorn bush. The moon give the place a creepy glow. It’s strangely quiet.
Suddenly, a boy popped from behind the thorn bush, running around and laughing like a crazy man. The boy was about Joshua’s age. All the clothes the boy was wearing was all in a shade of dusty white and black.
Interview on Quan
‘He creeps from behind the thornbush and the first thing I wondered was ‘How did he get there?’ Like when we burst into the clearing, I saw nothing behind the thornbush. That kid was pale, very pale indeed.’
‘Connor!’ Joshua galloped towards Connor, and hugged him tightly. So tight that I think the dog might burst.
‘Thank you for finding our dog,” Quan said to the boy.
He nods, and up close, Quan could see that he has pale skin, and he has dark circles around his eyes, as if he was a panda, and he looks very hungry.
‘Wow, great costume. Who might you supposed to be?’ Elijay asked.
‘A ghost.’ He replied.
‘Should you be out here all by yourself? Where do you live?’ Quan asked the boy.
‘I’m not alone, man.’ He said and started dancing and laughing again. Quan thinks he heard children laughing but he’s not certain.
‘Do you want to play with me for a while?’ Connor wags his tail and barks.
‘Kid, you are totally freaking me out,’ Elijay said.
‘Can we?’ Joshua looks excited.
‘Connor really likes him.’
‘No!’ Elijay hisses in my ear.
‘That’s how the ghost gets you. You play with them, and you will never leave.’
‘Look,’ I said,
‘It’s just a kid who’s trying to freak us out. Do you know the way back to the road, kid?’
The wind picks up, and I’m almost sure that I heard children laughing. The boy tilts his head as if he was thinking really hard. Then he shrugs, and gave a sad smile.
‘Ok, you let me played with your dog, so I will show you the way out.”
The Boy quickly walks into the forest, moving between the trees as if he know the position of every branch. We scrambled to keep up. Quan keeps hearing what sounds like laughter behind us, but he can’t be entirely sure. I starts to move a little faster.
‘Why are you in the Hallow all by yourself?’ Quan asked the boy, mainly to listen to something else besides the creepy noises.
‘I donno. I just go there.’ The Boy says,
‘It’s not a bad place. I can hear children who are always playing, but I couldn’t find them. I like listening to them. It makes me feel like I’m not alone.’
Quan feel sad for the kid. Being alone in the Hallow. No wonder why he tried to scare us. The laughter continues to go on. We made it to the road, and Quan asked him to trick-or-treat with us, but he give me a sad smile. When Quan turned around, his face was nearly invisible.
‘Hey, kid!’ Quan called out. As he stepped to where the boy stood. He saw nothing. The boy was gone.
Interview On Elijay
‘That kid was so strange, stranger than anyone I’ve never met. Well, he’s strange as Mr. Dame Tu Cosita. I’m telling you he’s the ghost’
Chapter Two
The Cave
Standing in front of Mr. Dame Tu Cosita’s Cave, Elijay said,
‘Remember that Mr. Dame Tu Cosita once spied in us?’
Quan had remember that day well. That day Elijay came to her house to visit, and when they were watching TV, they had found Mr. Dame Tu Cosita spying on them on the roof.
‘He seemes like a strange person.’ Quan remarked.
‘Yes, and he is one. He dances weirdly. And his handwriting is so strange.’
*Pause*
Dear Reader, you’re probably wondering about what Mr. Dame Tu Cosita writes like and how he dances. Well, here’s his transport:
Handwriting: I hAtE U UgLY bOi
(I chose ‘I hAtE u UgLY bOi’ because he calls PrestonPlayz ugly boy. And he is really bad at spelling, too.)
