MARINA

THE

WASP

Marina was born with one hundred brothers and sisters.

Their mother left them as babies so they all grew up together in their nest.

Eventually, Marina and the other wasps got too old to stay in the nest.

They all left the nest so that they could start doing their wasp jobs.

Marina watched as her brothers and sisters started working.

They all started building their own nests but poor Marina didn't know how!

Marina tried and tried to build her nest all by herself,

but she could not get the mud and wood fibers to stick!

She started to beg for help from her brothers, sisters, and other wasps.

They all just thought that she was being lazy so they refused to help.

Since Marina couldn't build herself a nest and nobody would help her, she just stayed outside and looked for shelter wherever she could.

One day, while Marina was asking for help, she ran into some honeybees who were pollinating flowers nearby.

One honeybee named April started to ask Marina some questions about why she had no nest.

After hearing Marina's story, April had an idea.
