Colt's heart was pounding against his chest. He felt as if he were about to collapse from exhaustion. No matter how much he wanted to stop, he couldn't. He was on his way.

The Boss
"May I ask you, what difference do you assume that you can make?" His voice was scratchy, almost like nails on a chalkboard. It was painful to hear. " I don't know, sir." Replied the Hechman. "What kind of answer is that?" Whispired the boss, in his painful voice. The henchman began to talk but the boss cut him off. "Why would you look for him without me. Did I give you the authority to do that?" "No, sir." The henchman replied. " Then follow me." The boss said with a smirk on his face.
the Right-hand man
He had no idea where the boss was taking him, all he knew was that it couldn't be anywhere good. "Sit, Cam." the boss said quietly. He sat. "For what purpose, did you attempt to search for that man. For what purpose would it serve. You very well know what your job is, but you chose to forget about it and do a different one." The boss stood up as faced the window, staring out of it. "Well, sir, I thought I could carry out the mission." The boss turned his head and slightly so that he could see the very edge of
Cam's face. "But why you. Why not save that for the captains or sergeants? Why..." The boss looked over cam "you?"
The HOrseshoe
There was no possible way for a moment to be better than this one. One moment, he was just a rookie, but the next moment, he was in the spotlight. He was on top of his bike, right side up. Every person in the bleachers went crazy. Even the opposing school gave a small applaud. FOr that one moment, everyone was cheering his name. Everyone was patting his back. For that one moment, he could see the judges walking towards him. They placed the medal over his head... but then it all happened. Everything sort
of just stopped. Everyone turned their head to see a single figure walking towards the podium.
He pushed his hood back, to reveal his face. Another person appeared beside him, a girl. The girl spoke. "Sorry, to interrupt this little, victory, but I have a message from the boss. He has been somewhat, disappointed in what he has been observing. He has seen trophies awarded for, participation. He believes that our country must teach yours how to earn a real victory, and undergo defeat. This victory will be risky though, for the winner, is the last person able to fight. For this, we require you to submit
two noble warriors, preferably one man and one woman. Bring them to the border 48 hours from this moment. We will see you there." And with that, they both disappeared.
The fierce one
The same girl who had delivered the message to the country across the border was delivering the message to her country. "We are in need of two noble warriors. You must have perseverance, endurance, and no fear. We will show them, what a true victory is. If you would like to fight, see me. I am right to the bosses office, and I am ready to decide on some great warriors, if you are ready to risk it."
The right hand man
He slowly knocked on the door of the captain. She opened the door. "You... would like to be the warrior?" He took one last thought than said "Yes." He walked inside. "Name?" She asked. "Its... Cam. " She looked at him for a little while. "You are the boss's assistant, if I am quite correct. You must be quite skilled for that job, I assume. Well, if you are satisfactory to him, then I guess you should be fit for this job. I'll Take you. One thing though, are you quite sure you want to do this?" Cam slowly nodded. "Of course"
The Fearless one
Ever since the lady came and delivered the message, everyone had been in total chaos. That is, everyone but Harper. She continued her regular life. Going to Muay Thai twice a week and swimming on weekends. She had too busy of a life to be worried about some other people being chosen to fight in a battle. At the current moment, though, none of that was on her mind. Instead, she was thinking about the fact that she was picked to be the warrior. Her and some boy named Colt, or The Horshoe. She wondered
why she had to be stuck with him. Why not her instructor, or her training partner, or even one of the swimmers. But why him. She sat down on her couch and took out her book, trying to take her mind off of what would happen in 24 hours.
The Bright one
Juniper took a deep breath as she walked along side of Cam. They both walked a foot or two behind the captain. As they paced closer, the began to see the outline of three other people. One young woman, one young man, and man who looked as if he were in his late sixties. The captain shook hands with the man, and they both began to walk farther down the border. They were still on their own sides, but they were about a foot from crossing to the other's side. They continued to walk for about a mile. After quite a long time
they finally arrived to their destination. It was an enclosed forest. A large Iron wrought gate stood at the front. "Now" spoke the captain, "May both sides face each other." All four of the kids faced each other. "You have been chosen as the Noble Warriors to fight for your country. Please proceed to shake each others hands." Hands were shook. "Of the country on the right are the warriors Colt Mitchell and Harper Reed. Of the country to the left are the warriors Cam Hewitt and Juniper Bowman. Please enter the arena." The man around his late seventies opened the gate and let the four kids in. "You could be in
there for two days, or two years. May the fiercest Warriors win." She checked her watch. "On your marks, get set... Go."
The horseshoe
They all dashed into the forest, with Colt in the lead. In a few minutes they were all in different areas of the forest, each one all alone. Colt sat on a rock, just realizing that he hadn't eaten since breakfast. He looked at his wrist to check the time, but there was no watch there. They couldn't have anything that would help them. He was told that there was hidden equipment throughout the forest. If they found this equipment they were free to use it. Maybe, Colt thought, there is a hidden clock somewhere.
Colt stood up, and set off to go and look for a clock.
The Fearless one
Harper felt... scared, a feeling that she never felt. She had conquered the fastest roller coasters, fought through the most painful attacks, and she had even pet a baby shark. She was fearless. So how could she be scared now. She sat inside of a dark cave, listening to her heart beat. She never thought that she would be picked for this job. She thought that this was something for other people to worry about. Harper scooted back even farther in the cave, not wanting to make any noise. She didn't want
to see or hear any of the other people that were hear. She thought that maybe she could just hide in this cave while all of the others fight. Maybe she could win if she did this. More thoughts about how to get out of the fight flooded her mind. After thinking for a little while longer, she eventually drifted off to sleep.
The right hand man
Why did Cam sign up for this? He was just trying to impress the boss after how angry he had made him. Cam should have just stayed being the boss's assistant. Cam was laying on the ground staring at the sky. The stars were so bright that they could have blinded him. He was looking for constellations. He was able to recognize the constellations very well. The boss required him to learn them if he wanted to be his assistant. Cam took off his glasses to wipe
them off. They were covered in dirt from all the training the boss had made him do so that he could do this job. He placed his glasses back on his face. The same glasses the boss had gave him when his vision went down. Cam got up and started looking for a place to rest. Cam realized there was no boss here to help him now. He was on his own.
The bright one
"I don't want to hurt you, but take one more step towards me and I will." Juniper was talking to the boy from the other side. He was tall and had shaggy brown hair. He raised his hands. "You see, I just saw the fire and thought that maybe you could provide me with some assistance?" Juniper almost laughed. "And why should I do that. You're from the other side" He took half of a step forwards. " I don't want to have to fight you. I have nothing against the other side. I respect what you do. You have some of the best
warriors to ever walk in one of our two countries. But, let me just say something, will you?" Juniper put down her fists and nodded her head. "Well..." he began " Our side used to be just like yours. A large group of noble warriors. But then, people didn't want to fight. They wanted to get recognition without doing anything. They wanted to take down the amount of competitiveness. They created the systems we use today. We no longer train warriors. I think it was better the old way. I don't want our two countries to fight. But I am no warrior. So... please don't kill me.
"Fine" said Juniper "Whats your name, by the way" He looked relieved that she wasn't going to kill him. "Colt. You can call me horseshoe." Juniper sat down in front of the fire. "I'd prefer not to. Are you at all hungry?" Colt grinned. "Yes, thank you."
The scientist
Even though he was in the leader of the country on the right, he felt as if he were no longer the leader. He had been the one to open that gate, putting those kids lives on the lines. He wished he could've gone himself. If these kids died, he would never forgive himself. But then again, if he had gone, he wouldn't have a self to forgive.
The Right hand man
"Hello?" Cam said "Anyone here?" He saw a shadow in the back of the cave. Someone stepped forward. "Yes" It was the girl from the other side. "Who are you?" She asked. "I'm Cam. And you are?" She gulped "My name is Harper." Cam smiled. "I mean no harm. I was just looking for somewhere for me to hide out. I don't really want to get killed while I am here." She nodded "Me neither. You're welcome to stay." Cam sat down on the hard rock of the cave floor. It felt good to sit after he had been
walking for hours. Cam smiled. "Thanks."
The boss
The boss had no idea what was going on in that forest, but he was hoping that the country on the left was delivering. And that boy, he was tiny. Hopefully he will fight as a noble warrior, thought the boss. Someone lightly knocked on the door. The boss already knew who it was. "Come in sergeant." The sergeant walked inside. He had been keeping track of what was happening in the forest. "Sir, your report." The boss took the report. "It has been 24 hours and there has been no fighting. I expected someone
from the country on the right to be gone by now. And yet, there had been... no fighting?" The sergeant held his arms behind his back. "Yes sir." The boss looked at his clock. "I thought that we signed the most noble warriors we had. But in that forest I see... nothing. I expect them to be doing there job by tomorrow. Let them be the warrior that they truly are." The sergeant nodded and left the room. He looked out the window to where he could just see the forest in the distance. "Now" he whispered "I meant what I told that sergeant. Hopefully our warriors deliver." The bosses eyes glowed. "I
don't want to have to... break any rules."
The Horseshoe
Colt walked while Juniper followed behind him. They had decided to try to find the others. They had already been here close to three days, and nobody had worked up the courage to fight. To be honest, Nobody really wanted to fight. "We've been walking for hours" Colt said "Shouldn't we a break?" Juniper pointed at a cave in the distance. "Once we get there, we can take a break. Colt nodded and kept walking. After a few minutes, they arrived to the cave. "Its, um... quite, dark... in there" Colt commented. Juniper looked at Colt with a
puzzled look. "Its a... cave. What do you expect." Colt shrugged and they walked inside of the cave.
"Do you have any matches left over from that box you found." Juniper pulled out the box. "Yeah, what do you need..." Colt grabbed the box from her before she could finish her sentence. He quickly said "Thanks" and lit a match. He picked up a stick from the cave floor and held the match to it. The tip of the stick caught fire. Colt gave Juniper her box back. "Now" Colt began "Lets look around." The two of them walked deeper into the cave. "We should just sit down and rest" Colt said after a
