To my first-born who began our "story"
and to my second-born who added color to the pages.
I love you both.

There once was a cow named Molly Moo
who was very sad and lonely too.

I am not very happy today.

She wished so much to laugh and to play,
but the other cows had been gone all day.

Where are my friends?
So, she wandered the pasture to see who could be found.

Hello? Is anyone there?

But was shocked and amazed
to find no one around.

Somebody? Anybody?

"Oh, what shall I do?" cried Molly Moo.
"If I cannot play soon, I will go coo-coo!"

I must do something!

I need to go see what that sound was!

Then, all of a sudden, a "Hoo! Hoo!" she heard.
"Good gracious!" Molly cried, "Was that a bird?"

Who are you?
She looked up and saw, to her huge surprise,
a brown owl staring with great, big eyes.

"My name is Harper Hoo," the owl said from above,
"and I will be your friend," she hooted with love.

I have been all alone.
