Missing Maddison
{Flashback}
That's when she did it. She got on the train, she left. Was it the right one?
Present day. Saturday, May 12, 1957. She shot up, barely breathing as she ripped the comforter from her face, sweat pouring down her arms and legs. What was happening to her? Was it a bad dream? Was it a spirit warning her? Everything was a blur, she couldn't think straight. She felt like someone was watching her. She started looking around. Being aware of her surroundings.
“What is wrong with her?” she heard
“Why is she doing that? Madison?” Someone else whispered. She couldn't get the voices out of her head.
She heard them say “Go outside!” Then telling her to go back in! She couldn't decide. “Get some fresh air!” they said.
She got up, frightened, and went. The door slammed.
“Maddison?” a voice said from the inside.
That's when she ran! Running past her favorite coffee shop. Tripping on bumps that felt like mountains. Seeing people stare as if she was crazy! She saw a sign. It was the subway. Strange men, mysterious woman, and the distinct smell of mold and dirty clothes accompanied her.
