Introduction
This is a story about cats. Warrior cats. If you don't understand certain terms in this book, that is because these cats do not speak or act the same way as us. If they talk about human objects, but they call them by different names, that is because they are feral (wild) cats. In the beginning of this story, young cats are saying names that are not familiar to you. Fear not; these names are not important to the story now, and probably not ever. If you get overwhelmed by the number of cats in this story, don't worry. These cats are part of a Clan, and it is natural for readers who have never read this type of book before to be confused. It is okay though. Bright readers such as yourself eventually will learn that some of the characters aren't as important as others. I hope you enjoy reading my book!

"I'm telling you, Crestkit, Autumnstar killed Smirk by biting his throat," a young kit mewed.
"Wrong, Dreamkit," Crestkit retorted,"Smirk died from injuries from other cats."
"That's a lie, you stupid furball, you just want me to tell that to all the kits and apprentices, so I can sound like a mouse-brain to them!"
"You're both wrong," another kit's voice chimed,
" Autumnstar killed Smirk by clawing his belly."
"Very good," said Goldwater, a queen,"Crimsonkit, I am pleased to hear that you know all these facts and the history of our clan."
"I knew that!" Crestkit scowled.
Goldwater swished her tail and gave a purr of amusement. Goldwater had six kits: Lunarkit, Bladekit, Crimsonkit, and Creamkit.
Given, Creamkit was her adopted daughter. Three of her kits were outside. The other one, Bladekit, was in the nursery napping.
Goldwater figured that she was extremely lucky that all of her kits, except for Crimsonkit and Bladekit, were calm. They just liked to argue about various subjects of AutumnClan, where they were from.
"All right," she meowed,"all of my kits, it's sundown. Time to go to our nests."
There was a chorus of yowls following her proclamation.
"Oh," said Sprucedapple,"thank you for saying that. My kits need to come in, too. Cliffkit! Heathkit! Dreamkit!"
There was even more yowling than before.
"Cram it, kits! I'm trying to sleep!" yowled an annoyed apprentice.
"Piercepaw is the worst," Crimsonkit grumbled.
"Agreed," mewed Heathkit.
Crimsonkit woke up the next morning with her fur aglow. The warm sunlight was streaming on her pelt. She yawned a huge yawn and sniffed the air. It was somewhat tangy.
Yes! The hunting patrol brought back lots and lots of fresh kill!
"Goldwater, may I get a thrush off of the fresh kill pile, please?" she mewed.
Goldwater mrrowed warmly.

"If there are any left, dear. Creamkit is already choosing her prey."
Crimsonkit hurriedly padded out of the den.
"Any prey left for me?" she mewed loudly.
"Saved you a thrush," Creamkit mewed.
"I ate a whole rabbit all by myself!" Cliffkit announced.
"Erm... good for you," Creamkit mewed.
Crimsonkit glared at him skeptically.
"You're going to lose it, you know."
She made an awful retching sound.
"Whatever, mouse-brain," Cliffkit spat,"I don't feel bad or sick."
