The phrasal verbs are phrases that include a verb and a preposition or an adverb. For example: turn on, turn off, don't mean the same as just the word turn alone. They are important because these kind of verbs are used always in daily conversations in English. In most of the cases the meaning of these phrasal verbs change from the verb along itself. In order to communicate you need to know the meanings. Knowing these verbs will increase the vocabulary that we have. Using phrasal verbs can make you sound more like a native speaker.

My name is Richard Peper and recently I started to practice soccer. My mom decided to take me to different academies for trials. But I don't feel so confident, because the kids that play in those places are really good.
-"Richard! You've got to take over your emotions! You need to trust yourself! You are not falling into this, you've practiced so much!"
I went to the Soccer Plus Academy, I did my best but the kids that were there had talent and good skills, I felt that I was not good enough. I felt like I was going to let down my mom.
The coach came over and talked to me. -"Son, you're good, but I'm afraid to say that you don't have the level that this place demands." He said. "Maybe if you come next year."
I just walked to the car and my mom could tell by the look on my face that the result was not good.

I'm the worst player ever! Maybe I should just give up!
I went to my room right after the trials, thinking that I blew up my chance. But I really like soccer, I have to at least try something else. I have to carry on with my journey.
I came across the fact that I need to train even harder to get better. So I started to run everyday and try to improve my ball skills.
