CHAPTER 1

Lillykit squirmed farther into her moss bedding as a wolf tore through one of the thorn walls of the nursery. Then she jumped and dashed into the tunnels. The tunnels were path ways in the thorn barrier that ran all around the edges of camp that kits from many seasons ago had made. Suddenly she heard wails Acornkit! she raced down the path heart pounding as images of her brother's dead body with wolves all around flashed in her mind. Then she stopped annoyance boiling her blood as she saw her pitiful brother shrieking as he ran in circles in the tunnels. "Shut up you idiot!" Acornkit stopped "B-But a wolf pack is attacking us"

Fear surged through Lillykit "how many?" "To many" Acornkit answered "Why are you n-not in the n-nursery?" Lillykit sighed "Its been over taken by the wolves" "What?" She knew that voice she turned around "you heard me Darkkit." she muttered suddenly barks and snarls pierce her ears "they found us!" she yowls and started to run up the hill, Darkkit pelted behind her but than stop and turned around. Lillykit glanced back to see acornkit frozen with fear "Come on" Darkkit yowled "w-what about Berrykit?" Acornkit whimpered. Lillykit froze what about Berrykit? "We have to go back!" she yowled "No I'm okay!" Lillykit looked to see Berrykit up the hill behind the leaders den Cloverkit and Aquakit
