The illustrations are fantastic. I know how much of an investment this is. The addition of a photo of your mom is everything.

Yasmeen. This came out great. You should be proud. The illustrations are quite effective! One suggestion: Aren't you including an actual photo of your mom in uniform? It would be quite moving to have somewhere in the book - perhaps at the end? Or a family photo with your mom in uniform.

I added the photo of my mom at the end of the book, right before the glossary page. Does that look good?

Hi Yasmeen! I like how you managed to make this about both of your parents. The call in the middle bringing them together to resolve a problem works really well. Could the final page highlight the theme of your story a bit more? Right now it describes how the main character is happy with her one pony tail, but what is the story really about? It feels like it got lost in this conclusion. So could she say something like "i was happy with my one ponytail... and how my mother helped my father like she was still here" or something that hints at her being excited for the time you got to see your mom in person, to give your dad more advice etc. Looking forward to your final book!

Hi Yasmeen. I will check in a few days for progress on this.

This promises to be a really moving story. I am looking forward to seeing the illustrations. The text is almost there. When you add the graphics pay attention to how/where you place the text on the pages. Text should not always appear in the same space on a page.
