One bright summer day, Peter and Piper wanted to put together a new puzzle that their Grandma had given them.  In their excitement, Peter and Piper raced outside and dumped the puzzle pieces in a pile on the picnic table.  But little did they know, one piece fell on the ground.

An hour later, Peter and Piper thought their puzzle was complete, but they soon realized that they were missing one piece! 

Piper said to Peter, “Where did you put the prized puzzle piece??!”

    Peter politely said, “I promise I didn’t take the puzzle piece!  I think it vanished into thin air!”  But little did they know... 

Pickles, the pug, picked up the piece and brought it, covered in puppy drool, into the parlor. 

Peter and Piper decided they needed to start an investigation to solve their puzzle piece predicament.  Peter said, “Hey! Did you see Pickles?  His muddy paw-prints start at the picnic table and lead to the house.” 

  Piper replied, “Let’s follow those paw-prints!”  But little did they know...

Mom picked up the puzzle piece while cleaning the parlor and put it in the playroom. 

When Peter and Piper got inside, they found Mom in the kitchen and asked her about the puzzle piece.  Mom said, “I found it in the parlor and put it in the playroom. You kids should take better care of your things.”  Peter and Piper raced to the playroom, but little did they know...

Little sister, Patty, pinned the puzzle piece to her picture collage earlier in the day. 

When Peter and Piper found Patty in the playroom, they asked her if she’d seen the missing puzzle piece.  Patty said, “Oops! I used the puzzle piece in my picture collage.” 

  Piper asked, “Well can we have it back? We NEED to finish the puzzle!” 

OOPS!

Patty replied, “Well I kind of put the picture collage in the mail to send to Grandma Penny.”  Immediately, Peter and Piper ran to the mailbox, but little did they know...
