*Stay informed through continuing education and training.
*Recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child.
*Create and maintain a safe and healthy setting that fosters children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
*Respect their dignity and contributions.
*Advocate for them.
*Ensure that each child's culture, language, ethnicity, and family structure are recognized and valued in the classroom.
*Use two-way communication with the child and the family.

*Families are the primary importance in a child's development.
*We have a common interest in the child's well-being.
*It is our responsibility to communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with them.
*Our relationship should enhance the child's development.
How to accomplish this ....
*Be familiar with the knowledge base related to working effectively with families
*Stay informed through continuing education and training.
*Develop a relationship of mutual trust and create a partnership with the families.
*Welcome all family members into the classroom and encourage them to participate in the education and decision making for their child.
*Listen to them and acknowledge them.
*Share information about the child with them on a regular base.
*Support them in the continuing development of their skills as a parent.
*Use two-way communication.
