I dedicate this personal narrative to my family and friends who have inspired me and encouraged me to keep on singing!
I hope my students read this and feel inspired to continue doing the things they love.

Ever since I can remember, I have been singing. My very first word besides "Ma Ma and Da Da" were Hallelujah.
My parents told me I would always stand directly in front of the television swaying to music and belting my heart out.
Here's a little sneak peek of what it looked like...except...now I am much older than I was then!

I always wanted to be a singer growing up, but didn't like telling many people that that's what I love to do. I was fairly shy and although I loved to sing, I wasn't ready to share that with the rest of the world!
After I was encouraged by my family and friends to share my talent with others, I became very involved with choirs in school. By high school I was performing in a talent show and other young artists programs!
The real lesson of this story is to show people that although we may end up living out different dreams for our careers, we still carry those desires from our childhood with us.
I will always be a singer even though I am a teacher. Singing has made me who I am since I could speak. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! It is now something I love sharing with my students, too!
Whatever your passion may be, keep on rocking it!
