About the Author
Johnnalee Borden is a college student at De Anza College and is majoring in Psychology. She has made this book for the purpose of completing one of her courses titled 'Peace and Conflict Studies' and due to her previous experience with babysitting, she found that the best way to teach children about important concepts such as peace and conflict, there must be a core leadership role for the children reading. Martin Luther king Jr. has always inspired the author and found that he might inspire others as well.

Information Page for Parents
Teaching children the beneficial impacts of peace at an early age has been statistically shown to increase their emotional intelligence as well as expand their social skills. I encourage parents to teach their children the differences between Negative and Positive peace, as well as the achievements of peaceful political or social leaders from all around the world. The objective for this book is to introduce achievements from Martin Luther King Jr. and how his peace towards all demographics were beneficial for his cause. The glossary shows some words that pertain to peace building and conflict transformation. I also encourage parents to read through these terms with their children.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a Preacher and a father.
He believed peace was the best medicine.

He noticed how badly people treated others. He knew that they were separated based on what they looked like and the color of their skin. Martin didn't think it was fair.

Martin wanted to bring all people together, no matter what they looked like or what skin color they had. He decided to organize people to fight for peace.

Martin was nice to people who were mean to him. Martin didn't care if they looked different because he still wanted to create peace.

Martin gave speeches about how people treat each other. He said that being separated because of how people looked was unfair. Martin always listened to others and never acted out in violence.

He gathered people who felt the same way as he did. Martin made sure to protest peacefully.

Martin started to become friends with people who didn't look how he looked. These new friends also felt that separation was unfair.

Once Martin was able to become friends with people who didn't look like him, he was able to help others become friends.
