Anna Wants to go to the White House in Washington D.C. because her class has been studying the seven roles of the U.S. President and she wants to see for herself the roles of President Trump

One of the roles of the President Trump is that he is the Head of State so he represents America at special occasions like this tree lighting ceremony!

Another role of President Trump is that he is the political party leader, so he leads the Republican party by giving speeches that support his party like this immigration speech that Anna attended.

Anna got to visit the White House Office and saw how Trump is the boss of all federal government workers in the executive bureaucracy, as he is the chief executive

Anna got to meet the Cabinet who are the heads of all 15 departments. Trump appoints the cabinet members and the Senate must approve them

Anna got to witness President Trump issue his first veto after congress rejects border emergency.

This shows how the President has legislative influence as he can influence what Congress does by vetoing (cancel) a bill and send it back to congress. He has to sign or pass a whole bill. He can't cancel some portions (line-item veto)
