“There are two kinds of people, those who love dolls and those who don't yet know that they love dolls." - Gayle Wray

40 YEARS EARLIER...
"Whatcha playing with Briar?" "Err, it's nothing. Just a toy I found in the basement." "This is going to tough but here goes, your Mom and I want you to know that we love you very much. Sometimes things happen where two people get to a point where they need to go in different directions with their lives. What I'm trying to say is that your Mom and I are getting a divorce. You did nothing wrong and you're still going to have two parents who love you more than anything." Once his parents left his room, Briar felt like crying but instead he began to pour his heart out to the weird little doll he found in the garage. Akila the Egyptian Princess acted as a sounding board for a sad and confused Briar.

"So, did you have a good time at the park with your Daddy today?" "Oh yeah, we had a great time. Lucy got to go on the swings and the slides and........" "What's wrong Lucy?" her Mother asked. "Didn't you have fun?" "My dolly is missing!" she cried out before beginning to sob. "Can we go look for her now?" "It's getting dark outside. How about we go the first thing tomorrow morning sweetie? Or better yet, how about I buy you a brand new doll!" "No! I want Princess Enmeline! She's my best friend!" KNOCK! KNOCK!

"It's almost nine o'clock. Who could it possibly be at this hour?" "I don't know but I'll get the door and then tell them we're not interested" Lucy's Dad replied. "Are you Marshall Harvey?" "Yeah, who wants to know?" "My name is Briar Ruddick. I'm a former Navy SEAL who has dedicated his life to finding dolls that have been lost of taken." After a few moments of silence, Lucy's Dad burst out laughing. "Very funny. Who put you up to this? Was it the boys from work?" "This is no joke Marshall. Just like it was no joke when you lost your Empress Mary doll when you were 8." "How'd you know about her? I never told anyone about her." "Don't be ashamed. Now, take me to your daughter."

"Who was at the door honey....oh, hello there." "My name is Ruddick. I have reason to believe that your daughter's doll has been stolen by a dangerous group of international doll thieves. I will stop at nothing to get Princess Enmeline back to Lucy safe and sound." "Is this guy for real?" "He's very intense. Do what he says and stay out of the way" Marshall whispered to his wife. RING! RING! RING! "Are you expecting a call Ma'am?" "It's probably my sister." "I'll answer it. It could be the dollnappers." "Dollnappers?" Lucy's Mom replied.

CALL FROM JUDITH
"I don't know who you are or what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let the doll go now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you and I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will say 'Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah' when I see you." "Um, it's Audrey's sister, Judith. Can you tell her that I'll be bringing potato salad to Sunday's barbecue." "I'll pass along the message." "Good luck." CLICK!

"Who was that?" Audrey inquired. "Your sister. Something about potato salad. But that's not important. What is important is getting Princess Enmeline back to Lucy as quickly as possible. Time is of the essence." "Thank you so much Mr. Ruddick, but that won't be necessary." Ruddick shot Marshall and icy stare. "Or perhaps you could find our daughter's doll" Marshall nervously responded. "I will be speaking to my contacts in the underground toy world and provide you with regular updates." "You don't really have to." But before Marshall could finish his thought Ruddick had already embarked on his mission. A bewildered Marshall returned to the living room to comfort his daughter.

Glorious Emperor
Hotel & Spa

"I hope you enjoyed your stay with us Sir" the valet said to billionaire businessman, Regino Angelus. Angelus was one of the richest men in the world. His family has been involved in the real estate business for years. Many people wondered if the family business also involved criminal activity, namely dollnapping. From an adjacent building, Ruddick watched as Angelus prepared to drive off in his Bugatti sport car. As he adjusted the telescope lens, Ruddick noticed a doll similar to Lucy's poking out of Angelus' suitcase. Ruddick decided to follow the billionaire who was on his way to the airport. A private helicopter awaited his arrival.

Ruddick followed Angelus to the airport where his personal pilot was waiting for him. The chopper's blade were furiously spinning making it difficult to hear. "Right on time as always Rezen! I have some business to tend to at the warehouse and then I want to head home to surprise my little girl!" "Change in plans Angelus!" "Who are you and what happened to Rezen?" "He decided to drop out at the last minute! My name is Ruddick and you have something I want! I'll take you to your warehouse but only after I get some answers about that doll!" "The doll? What are you a madman?" Ruddick said nothing as the helicopter flew off into the sky.
