Our story starts once upon a time in Scotland.
There, lived Macbeth, a warrior who was praised by all for his strength in battles.
Also there, was Banquo, Macbeth's right-hand man.

In this land, there were also three devious and ugly witches.
They enjoyed toying with humans and had their eyes set on the noble Macbeth.
The witches found Macbeth on his way home from a fight and told him all about his future.
They said that he would be King.

Banquo was wise and did not trust the witches.
He felt that there was something fishy going on.
But not Macbeth. He believed them.
He wanted to know more about his glorious future and how it would come to be.
That's when his head got just a little bit bigger.

Macbeth decided to share the news with his wife, Lady Macbeth.
She was ecstatic. Lady Macbeth knew that if Macbeth was King, then she would be Queen.
The only thing she ever wanted was power.
She hatched a plan to get her crown as quickly as possible.
She bullied Macbeth into getting rid of King Duncan by giving him a potion that would put him in an eternal sleep.

Macbeth gave the King the potion before he went to bed.
The next morning, King Duncan would not wake up.
His son fled, not wanting the same fate.

With no one from the King's family there to pass down the throne to, Macbeth was crowned King.
As it all seemed to be going perfectly for Macbeth, Banquo got suspicious.
He asked himself if it was just a huge coincidence that the King was asleep forever or if Macbeth had something to do with it.

Macbeth sensed Banquo's suspicion and knew that if he wanted to remain King he had to get rid of Banquo and his family.
Macbeth took matters into his own hands and sent them off on a fake quest to find India, never to be seen again.
Then, Macbeth, greedy for more good fortunes, commanded the witches to tell him more about himself. They told him three things.
First, he must beware of a man named Macduff.
Second, he will only lose his crown when the trees start walking.
Third, not a single person born can defeat him.

Macbeth was overjoyed with this news.
"You silly witches, trees can't walk. I'll handle Macduff and then no one can take me down! I will be King forever!", he exclaimed as his head grew bigger and bigger.
Macbeth returned to his castle with his big head and new information.
He decided to send someone to Macduff's house and give everyone inside the eternal sleeping potion.
