Once Upon A Time...
There was a paper called the Articles of
Confederation, and it made everyone very
happy because they could spend their lives
being peaceful to others. The Articles of
Confederation joined everyone together. However,
because of the Articles, the leaders couldn't do
certain things. For example: they couldn't collect
money from their friends. The Articles of Confederation's
main purpose
was to set the rules for the United States.

One day, the leaders of the people
gathered together. When they were
together, they wrote something very
important. What they wrote were ways to
successfully lead their friends. They
wanted to be strong, but they also wanted
to be fair. They believed that they could
do both by having three different ways of
leading. These ways were called the
executive, legislative, and judicial.

The Legislative branch has two branches, the
Senate and the House of Representatives. The
legislative branch also makes all of the rules,
like how many terms a person can serve for
president, and raising and lowering taxes
to less important stuff like what time
meetings should start. The legislative branch
also has the power to repeal laws.

In the legislative branch there is something
called a bicameral. In latin this word means
"two rooms". A bicameral is a two part
legislature that separates the houses of
congress.
In the House of Representatives there are 435
Representatives based on the population of
each state. In the Senate are 100 senators
and 2 are assigned to each state.
If there is a tie in the Senate, the Vice
President casts the deciding vote.

The power of the Executive Branch is about
the President of the United States, who
also acts as the leader of the state or
Commander-In-Chief of the army. The
president is in charge of making the rules
happen by Congress and make the other
leaders make it happen.

The Vice President is also part of the
Executive Branch if the president needed
any help or support. The cabinet makes
sure that all of the rules are going to
happen and that they are going to happen
the right way.

The different missions are spread out
between lots of people and each of them
have different responsibilities. The
Executive Branch has more than 4 million
people working for them.

And then there is the
Judicial Branch..
