Chapter 1: Lunar cycle
The lunar cycle is the cycle where the moon rotates around the earth. It takes about 29-30 days. There is a total of 8 phases in the cycle which include new moon, waxing crescent, 1st quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, 3rd quarter, waning crescent. The moon produces light by reflecting the suns light off the surface of the moon and the light goes on the earth.
Chapter 2: What if
What would happen if the moon rotated around the in 24 hours rather then 29.5 days? If this happened we would get the whole lunar cycle in one day! That means the days would be longer because the moon would be rotating 40 degrees every 3 hours and if we got a whole lunar cycle the moons gravitational pull would pull the tides the opposite way of the earths rotation making the days longer.
Chapter 3: The impact
The impact of this change would be that the tides would be different. The tides act as a brake for the earth so the tides would be slowing the earth. Another impact is that the animals behaviors could change because the moon light affects their behavior by either being less active or more active.

Chapter 4: Analysis
The pattern supports my inference because I examined the pattern of the lunar cycle and how it works and it supported my inference because i used that knowledge to help infer that in 24 hours the changes that would occur.
