Benny was a bee. He was a nice bee. He loved flowers, fly9ng and honey. Benny was new to the neighborhood and wanted to make some friends.

Benny went out on a nice, sunny day. He was looking for friends. Benny saw an ant. Before Benny could say hi, the ant screamed and ran away. Benny thought this was strange but kept flying.

Then Benny saw a ladybug. He buzzed over to say hi. The ladybug looked up and said, "don't sting me!" and crawled away. This surprised Benny. He was confused.

Along came a spider. Benny said hello to the spider. The spider said, "I'm not letting a bee sting me today"! Before Benny could tell him he wanted to be friends, the spider crawled away too.

Poor Benny! He was so sad he couldn't find any friends. He didn't want to sting anyone, but no one would would give him a chance.

Benny was about to give up and fly home when he saw a beetle walking by. The beetle stopped when he heard Benny's buzzing. Benny thought the beetle would be scared and crawl away but he didn't.

The beetle stopped crawling and said, "hello up there" in a friendly voice. Benny was surprised. Benny said hello back. The beetle was not scared of him!

Benny asked the beetle why he wasn't scared of him. The beetle replied, "why would I be"? Benny told him everyone else had ran away from him. The beetle said, "I think you sound nice". "But don't I look scary?" said Benny.
