I was a peasant during financial crises in France that began after the American Revolution, when the French went into debt from the 7 years war and helping in the revolution.

Our government needed money to pay for the wars. So they decided they would tax the people. The government's way of taxing only made things worse for the government and France.

The government taxed the us the peasants, and gave exemptions to the nobility and clergy. This system of taxation did not work because they taxed us and we have very little money.

We saw how bad the taxation system was and we hated how the nobility did not have to pay taxes.

Our role in the growing public opinion helped lead to reformation in France. We began riots in Paris. As France hired foreign mercenaries we went to find weapons to fight.

We were able to win the french revolution and take down King Louis XVI.
