The Characters

In a beautiful village, there lived twins, named Taru and Hana.

One day, in the bright morning, their parents told them to find woods in the forest, and sell them in the market near the village. The twins gladly accepted their parents’ order.

They prepared their lunch before going to the forest. They prepared breads, apples, bananas, and milk. Hana wanted to cut the apple into two slices, and she said “I'll cut the apple into two slices. One slice for you, and one slice for me.” “Why don’t you cut the apple into four? It would be easy to chew it.” Taru said. “Nice idea”, Hana replied.

Then they prayed to God and asked their parents’ permission. Their mom asked, “What do you bring for your lunch? It will be noon when you arrive in the forest? “We had prepared bread, some fruit and milk” Hana said.
Then, their dad said, “These are the axe and the rope. You both will need these.” “Thanks Dad”, said Hana. She reached the rope and took it in the meal box, and her twin took the axe. Taru added, “We will be back in the afternoon. Please wish us luck.” Dad and mom replied, “See you in the afternoon.”

They went to the forest excitedly. Taru said “The one who arrives in the forest first is the winner”. “I will be the winner!” Hana shouted loudly. They laughed and ran to the forest as fast as they could.

Unfortunately, the wooden bridge to pass the river was broken. Hana cried “What should we do now? We cannot pass the river.” Taru replied calmly “It is ok Hana, don’t cry. Let us find some woods, and fix the bridge.”
They worked together and successfully fixed the bridge. “I am so grateful we can fix this bridge, Taru” Hana said. Taru replied, “Me too, we will find a way as long as we try it. Let’s go to the forest.”

In the forest, the animals gathered. They were the rabbit, the monkey, and the birds. They played together. They were really happy to live in the forest.

Arrived in the forest, Taru and Hana chose the tree that they wanted to cut. They were very confused because there were many trees to cut.
Suddenly, Taru saw a big tree. “Wow, that tree is so strong, I believe it has quality wood.” Hana said. “I agree with you, the tree is old and sturdy. Let’s cut it, and go home soon” Taru replied. “We will get much money because of its woods,” Hana said.
They looked so happy without realizing the animals were behind the big tree.
