    Once upon a time there was a princess named 

Zoey.   She lived with her mom and dad who were the 

King and Queen of Dreamland.   Their names were 

King James and Queen Rose.

          Zoey was a cook.   She enjoyed making up recipes of her 

own and sharing them with her family and friends.   One 

day she said to her mother, "Mom, lets make some really 

good cookies and surprise Dad!"    Queen Rose said to 

Zoey, "Ok, that sounds like a plan!   What type of cookies 

are you thinking about making?"    Zoey replied, "Chocolate 

chip sounds really good but I think I may put my secret 

ingredient into it to surprise Dad."    "Sounds great! So let's 

get started!", said Queen Rose.

     First they decided to make a list of the ingredients that 

they were going to need.   Here is the list: 

1. Flour

2. Eggs

3. Chocolate Chips

4. Sugar

5. Butter

6. Baking Soda

7. A Cookie Sheet

8. Special Ingredient                            

9. Oil

10. Water

     Then they went to the store to purchase all the ingredients 

that they did not have at home.   While in the store they also 

picked up some milk that they forgot to add to the list.   You 

can't have cookies without milk!  

    They put the groceries on the counter and paid for them 

and headed back home to begin their evening of cooking for 

the King.  

     They soon arrive home and begin the baking.   First they 

get out all the mixing bowls.   They begin to pour in 2/3 cup 

of water and 4/5 of a cup of oil. They decide not to measure 

the amounts of chocolate chips, sugar, butter, or the secret 

ingredient.   Those are added to taste.   They only put in one 

egg.   They begin to mix it all together and make it really 

thick so it can form small balls to put on the baking sheet.

     Then they put the small balls of dough onto the cookie 

sheet.   One at a time, soon the cookie sheet was filled with 

chocolate chip cookies for the King.   The Queen wanted to 

know what the special ingredient was but Zoey would not 

tell.   She knew one day she would be famous for her 

cookies.  

    When they were finished they put them in the oven and 

set the timer.   In just 15 minutes they would have the best 

cookies in the world.
