Next in the food chain are grasshoppers. Grasshoppers get their energy by eating grass, which makes them consumers. Consumers eat living things for food and energy. Grasshoppers are also prey because animals eat them.
Frogs eat grasshoppers for energy, which makes them consumers. Frogs are predators because they eat other animals for their food. They are also prey because they will be eaten.
