The student is expected to: compare and contrast a variety of mixtures, including solutions

Mrs. Henry the Giraffe came to science class today with chocolate! Lily the Lemur was certain we would be able to eat it, but I knew there had to be more to it. Mrs. Henry never just lets us eat candy in class, she says we get too crazy!

“Good Morning class!” Mrs. Henry said excitedly.

“Good morning, Mrs. Henry,” we all said.

"I am sure you may have noticed a pile of chocolate sitting on my desk this morning. Today we are doing a science project to see how fast the chocolate will melt. You will be given 3 pieces of chocolate and will place each on a different surface at your station, with my supervision," said Mrs. Henry.
Everyone in the class became excited.

“Quiet, please student’s we have to get this completed today so I need listening ears and eyes,” Mrs. Henry sternly said.

Mrs. Henry informed the class that we will be putting our chocolate under a heating lap. One piece will be on a stone plate, one will be on a cold dish, and the last will be on the countertop. Each group will use a stopwatch to see how long it takes for the chocolate to melt, we only have 10 minutes to complete the project. We will compare and contrast the experiment as a group to see how our chocolate is changing.

I was not happy when I found out that Mrs. Henry assigned me to work with George the Mountain Goat and Charles the Cheetah. They are always messing around and getting into trouble. This was not going to be the case today, so as soon as we separated into groups, I laid down the rules. We were NOT going to get into trouble today!
