Jake loved soccer. He had a game coming up. It was the finals and he had been playing soccer for five years now. 

But the thing he loved most and it was never going to change was Pokémon. He loved Pokémon so much. Jake had really strong Pokémon such as Snorlax, Gangar, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Charizard, Gyarados and Rhydon. 

The next day a stranger to the neighbourhood came along and challenged him to a Pokémon battle 2v2.

Jake chose to use Jolteon. “Quick! Use thunder bolt!” said Jake. Jolteon dashed across the field.

“I choose you, Hitmonlee!” said the boy. BANG! BANG!

Thunder struck Hitmonlee. Hitmonlee used rapid kick. You couldn’t see its foot, it was moving so fast. Jolteon dodged and used thunder prick.

Oh no, it was Jolteon’s special move. SMASH! Hitmonlee was unable to battle. The winner was Jolteon! 

“Yay!” Jake shouted. Jolteon returned to him.

“Good game,” Jake said to the boy.

“Wow, you have strong Pokémon,” the boy answered. “Do you want to trade?”

“No thanks,” said Jake. “I like my Pokémon.”

“Ok,” said the boy. “I’ll see you around.”
