To my cats, Charlie and Marshle, and cat lovers everywhere.

Midnight had a good life. She lived with her boy, Peter, her mom, Alexandria, and her dad, Winston. Her family loved her dearly and spoiled her with fancy food and fluffy toys.

Midnight had everything a cat could want. Yet, she wasn't satisfied. She was sick of being cooped up in the house. She only got outside once a month. She decided she would escape!

Midnight!
Midnight!
Here, kitty!
The next time Midnight went out, she ran away. Her humans cried for her, but she didn't come.

Midnight ran to the river. There she met a cat gang. They called themselves the Feline Legacy. They invited Midnight to join the group! Midnight said yes. The orange tabby leader was named Tiger. His second in command was a tabby with green eyes named Sun.The last cat was Socks, who used to live with humans.

The cats showed Midnight their base. It was a field with a little pond. It was very peaceful, but then Tiger said it was time for battle training. Tiger jumped on Midnight and scratched her back! Midnight got mad. Tiger said she was weak. It was just training! Midnight thought. Not a battle.

Tiger tossed Midnight in the water. Midnight almost drowned! Quickly, Midnight got out of the pond and ran away from the gang. They were too dangerous!

Midnight ran and ran. Finally, she stopped. She looked around and saw..... Sun! "Why are you here?" She hissed at the male cat. "Tiger banned me from the gang." He trembled. "I got in a fight with him and tossed him in the pond."
Two months later Sun and Midnight had gotten very close. Midnight had let Sun stay with her. And surprise! Midnight was pregnant. And guess who the soon-to-be father was? Sun! But one day, Midnight looked at Sun. "I have to go back to my owners." She said.
