Dear Diary,

Today was okay. It was okay well, because while I was training Niah, my horse, she got spooked by Germy, my German Shepard. It took her a long time to get settled down, she really gets spooked easily. I am really afraid to go to the Cali Western Horse Compition, though. One of the obstacles is for your horse not to get spooked when a larger dog comes running through the arena. I'll have to train her to not get spooked so easily.

Dear Diary,

Today was not much better. Niah was not prepared to go riding, she would not cooperate when I was trying to put her bridle and saddle on. She kept moving her head back and forth, and when I tried to put the saddle on her, she totally starting rearing. She was not acting regular at all. I wasn't able to get any practice with her today, but I'll try tomorrow. If this doesn't get any better before the show, I don't know what I'm going to do. But, third days a charm! Right?

Dear Diary,

Well, today was different, it was a bust. I guess third day isn't a charm. I woke up with Niah neighing loudly, I could most likely hear her from miles away. As soon as I heard her distress, I quickly put on my boots, and ran to the stables. I didn't know what was going to happen. I went quickly inside the stable, and saw nothing. I checked her out, to make sure that nothing was wrong, but nothing was. The only thing I saw is that she was a little bit bigger, most likely from eating to much food, horses tend to do that in the winter. That night, I thought long and hard about it, but I came to a conclusion. -Jillian

Dear Diary,

I am going to take her to the vet. Some people may think that it is a good thing to do. Well, not where I live. Here, our vet is the worst. I don't know how she passed the test in college, she is so mean to all horses, and animals. Sadly, I had to. I didn't know what to do if I didn't know what was happening. That day, I called Chio Vet Clinic, and told her what was happening. They said they could check her out tomorrow morning. I was so nervous all night, I didn't know what was going to happen to her. I hope nothing had happened.

Dear Diary,

Well, today was the day. I loaded her in our horse trailer with my dad, ready to take her to the vet. She was still whimpering and making odd noises. She also hadn't stood up in a very long while. It was hard enough to just even get her in the horse trailer. Then, there was the long drive to the vet. I kept looking back to make sure nothing had happened to her. It was just scary. Soon enough, we arrived and got her out of the horse trailer, into the fenced area. The vet came out, and immediately started to ask questions.
