This book is dedicated to my children who are bored at home during the Coronavirus crisis. We are in this together.

"Mom, I'm bored! I thought being out of school was supposed to be fun. This is not fun. I miss my friends, " Brent explains to his mom.
"I know it is hard son, but I do have something we can do. Our neighbor, Mrs. Jones just called and asked if we could go to the grocery store for her. She needs milk, eggs, and toilet paper, and I told her we would love to help her," his mom replied.
"Why can't she go to the store by herself? The grocery store is boring!" Brent snapped.
"Brent, I know the idea of going to the grocery store does not sound fun to you, but we need to help Mrs. Jones. She is elderly. Do you know what that means?"
"It means she is old, but I don't know what that has to do with anything."
Brent's mother bent down so she could look him in the eyes. "Yes, it means she is older. That makes her more at risk to catch the Coronavirus and become very, very sick. We would not want anything to happen to Mrs. Jones, would we?"
"No. I do not want anything bad to happen to Mrs. Jones," Brent mumbled under his breath, "I will go."

" I am glad to hear that Brent. Mrs. Jones needs our help, and I am happy that you are willing to help her. Now, put on this mask. Doctors are advising that everyone wear a mask when they are in public to help stop the Coronavirus from spreading even more," Brent's mother explains to him. She hands him the mask. He pauses, and then he puts it on.
"I feel like a superhero! I like the mask," Brent exclaims.
"To Mrs. Jones, you are a hero, Brent. We are protecting her," his mom said. "I also have hand sanitizer to keep germs off of our hands. Are you ready to go?"
"Let's go! Brent to the rescue. We will be back soon Mrs. Jones!" Brent shouted as he walked out to the car.
Brent and his mother got into their green car and headed to the store.
"Mom, where is everyone? Where are the other cars?" Brent asked.
"Well, the government has asked people to stay at home unless they need to go grocery shopping or to the doctor. There are not as many cars because people listened and want to be safe," his mom explained.
"What is so bad about this Coronavirus? They do not close everything when I get strep throat," Brent asked.
"That is true, but there is medicine for strep throat. There is not medicine for this sickness yet, and Coronavirus can make people really sick," she said. "Everyone is trying to be really careful to help keep people safe."

"If people are staying home, why is there a line to get into the grocery store? Is it closed? How can we help Mrs. Jones if the store is closed?" Brent shouted.
"The line is not there because there are too many people, honey. They are only letting a few people in the store at a time to try to keep people safer. Do you notice how people are standing far apart from each other?" his mom asked.
"Yes. That's strange, " Brent observed.
"It's called social distancing. In order to stop germs from spreading, you keep two arm lengths away from people around you. Remember to keep your distance while we are here," his mom explained.
