I dedicate this book to my fellow seniors of 2020 we are the cursed class, but this will not stop us! COVID-19 may have taken our senior memories, but we will not be forgotten.

It all started as a typical school day, nothing out of the ordinary. Around third period it started to feel different, my advisers were talking about packets and then when it was time for class to be over one of them said see you in two weeks. I didn't really think about what she said and carried on to my fourth period. It's finally fifth period and my teacher tells us that school will be canceled for two weeks starting March 16, 2020. I was neither excited nor mad, I had heard multiple people around school claim that they wanted school to close, I on the other hand knew that once school closed there was no going back. So I just went with the flow and didn't stress on what couldn't be changed.

The first case of COVID-19 in the United States was reported on January 21, 2020. As of April 6, 2020 the current number of cases in the United States is now 330,891 with total death count of 8,910.
Fun Fact:
Feels like any normal school break, with the exception that spring break is still yet to come. I have been seeing multiple videos and memes about 2020 seniors graduating off of zoom or just making fun of our class. Those who make fun of us don't think about how their words and actions affect others. I for one did not appreciate the comments being said, it started off as a funny joke but now it might actually happen. Having my senior events postponed was not something I saw coming. I always thought about finally being able to graduate and being able to walk down the stage and receive my diploma. Now I honestly don't know if that's possible anymore.

The Coronavirus has nothing against the Mexican powers of caldo de pollo and vaporub, along with the mystical powers of 7UP.

My family decided to go stock up on food, water, and other essential needs. Going into the stores it felt like a scene straight out of a movie, empty shelves, little to no water, no cleaning supplies, no hand sanitizer, no lysol, absolutely no toilet paper. It's crazy how one month can be so chaotic, I never thought that COVID-19 would create such an issue were many are panicked and buying out stores. I feel bad for those who are in need of these necessities and can't find them anywhere. Hopefully this pandemic gets resolved and we can all go back to our regular lives. Although I know that might be months or even a year from now, where the Coronavirus isn't such a threat to humanity.
Fun Fact:
As of March 26, 2020 over 3.3 million Americans have filled for unemployment due to COVID-19 pandemic causing businesses to close down while the United States try to contain the outbreak.

It's another regular day of quarantine, the usual jokes coming from underclassmen and those who think its funny. I just move along after seeing any of their jokes. Turns out there's an extension to school closure. May 4, 2020 is the day we go back to school, and that basically means that prom is canceled. Something I have waited for since freshman year was just taken away from my class and I honestly don't know how to feel about it. I wasn't all for the Aladdin prom theme, but that didn't mean I wasn't planning on going. Another thing I won't get to experience with my friends. I know others are being more affected by Coronavirus, but that doesn't mean us senior can't feel angered by whats being taken from us.
Meme:
In 2019, you were flexing that you had airpods, now in 2020 you are flexing because you have hand sanitizer and toilet paper.

I'm honestly devastated for any state that makes there students repeat the grade year. If it came to that point I would except it because at least you get to experience the full senior year but then again it's a lost of graduating in 2020. Many students who joined spring sports don't get to experience their senior year and some depend on getting a scholarship to pay for college. I really do hope that school will continue, I miss my classes, teachers, and friends. Some may say that they don't miss school, but I for one do. Having to stay home is kind of boring especially when all I do is eat, sleep, and watch netflix, at least I can say I cleaned my room. My social life has slowly decreased to only a handful of people from school to converse with.
Fun Fact:
COVID-19 is a disease that causes respiratory illness with symptoms such as cough, fever, and difficulty breathing. Those mostly infected are the elderly, those with asthma, HIV, and other groups at risk of severe illnesses.

There's been a video going around predicting when the Coronavirus will end, and honestly I just want to see if any of the dates are correct. Although I know they probably aren't, it just makes this quarantine fun and interesting. It seems that Class of 2019 wants to join in on the fun of making our predicament their joke. Someone once said "just because you are playing doesn't make it less hurtful". All in all that person is correct but I know that whatever happens, happens for a reason, although I may not agree with what happens I can say that this just makes Class of 2020 more stronger. So far I have only received one homework assignment which was to work on my senior video draft #2.
Meme:
"Class of 2020 been saying no cap all year, they forgot to say no gown either." "Guess their 20/20 vision didn't see this coming." "Wish this was in 2019, they could of been Class of COVID-19."
