Timmy was a young rabbit who wanted to be just like Peter Rabbit when he grew up. Timmy LOVED adventure, but his parents would never let him go any farther than Brooks Pond. "Farther than that," they always said, "is danger."
So, Timmy never went past Brooks Pond.

One day, however, Timmy was itching to get out of his burrow and do something! He wanted to explore the world!
So, when his parents left to buy some carrots, he sneaked out of the house.
"I will not be long," he thought. "They will never know."

Once Timmy arrived at Brooks Pond, he was so excited! Across the water, there was a big forest. It was dark in the forest. Timmy jumped on a log and used a stick to paddle across the pond.
He was almost there!

Once on the other side of the river, Timmy realized how big the pond really was. He could barely see his rabbit community on the other side.
He didn't care, though. He wanted to explore!
So, he ventured further into the forest.

After about 10 minutes, it started to get really dark, and Timmy realized he couldn't see the pond! What direction was it? Where was he?
Just then, he heard a loud cry up in the sky. An eagle!
"Oh no, " though Timmy. "They eat rabbits! I'm doomed!"

He began to follow his footsteps back to the pond. Why had he ever ventured out past Brooks Pond? He should have listened to his parents!
Timmy was scared, but he soon found the pond again and started to sail across on his log again.

After what seemed like forever, Timmy arrived on the other side of the pond. He could see his parents coming back from Farmer Bill's garden. He had to beat them home or they would be suspicious!
He raced at top speed back home and flew threw the doorway and skidded into his bedroom.
"Act cool." He told himself.

Just then, his parents came in, laughing happily.
"Oh hello, Timmy," they said. "Have you had a nice time?"
"Oh yes," he lied. "Absolutely grand."
After that, Timmy never went past Brooks Pond ever again.
He never wanted to lie to his parents again!
