Have you ever wondered how the people on the news know what the weather will be like?

Well, they use weather tools to help them find out!

Thermometers are one of the most common types of weather tools. They tell you what temperature it is!

Inside thermometers there is liquid, and that liquid expands and goes up when it's warm and gets smaller and goes down when it's cold.

This is an anemometer. It measures how fast wind blows.

As the wind blows, it makes the cups spin around. The tool counts how many times the cups spin around to calculate the speed of the wind.
