I walk forward but I walk backwards.
I eat but I feel empty.
I see but I'm blinded.
I rest but I feel tired.
I'm together but I feel torn.
Efrain R, 7th grade
There once was a boy,
His name was Roy
He was always full of joy.
He loved to draw and paint,
But sometimes he would even faint.
He went to Banana Cross School.
He always thought the teachers were cruel.
Of course, his favorite subject was art,
But he had a strange allergic reaction which made him fart.
He loved to draw The Flash.
He drew him faster than lightning hitting ash.
- Cesar T, 6th grade
Roy's Dilemma
On my first day
I felt a lil nervous
didn't know what to expect
didn't know if it was worth it
I felt a little scared but
eventually the air cleared
now I'm sitting here
wondering what could have been
if the pandemic wouldn't have been
Tyrin P, 7th grade
I’m not sure what to think
This isolation at home
Is helping me appreciate
What I have
Is comfort in my home
N. Richard Clark, Teacher
How many pandemics does it take to embrace humankind as one race.
For I know that one day the earth will go cold and we won't be so bold.
We all know it's a matter of time
before our species reaches the limit of being extinct
When will we think about our actions.
Haven W, 7th grade
I saw a flower.
so lonely insight.
I picked it.
and I got on my bike.
On my way home.
as fast as I go.
to give to my mother.
The flower I hold.
In my right hand.
Is where it is.
when I got home.
I Gave the flower to my mother.
And she hugged me so tight.
--Celest L, 6th grade
This is a poem about
Something I can’t live without
My life
created
not debated
Isaac W, 8th grade
It was Friday the thirteenth,
I was with my cousin who was fifteen.
We were in a room,
Then suddenly, we heard a BOOM!
We looked outside the window,
While holding a pillow.
First, we saw nothing,
But then, we saw something.
It was my dad,
Screaming that it was a prank.
-Jesus S, 6th grade
There's something now here,
It goes by "COVID-19".
It's nothing to fear
Unless we stop fighting.
We need to stay calm
And sit tight.
Wash our palms
And don't start the FIGHT!!!
Simon W, 8th grade
Friends
Friend, a word so commonly used,
But yet so complex.
Meaning more than one may have favored,
Or as one reflects.
Friend, my other half,
Our relationship is so close.
Someone there to make me laugh,
A friendship beautiful like a rose.
Friend, sometimes my rival,
Our arguments are strong like a blizzard.
Blowing us apart as we wrangle,
Our relationship temporarily battered.
Best friend, defined as a very close friend,
Times together we will spend,
Our friendship will never end
By: Sara A, 6th grade
roses are red. violets are blue.
there's a lot of work and I'm so confused.
many people are just like you.
jocelyn r, 7th grade
As the sun begin to fade.
My mother begin to bake.
As the buns begin to bake.
I begin to shake.

Coronavirus
I am lonely now because
I am at home
Coronavirus
Friends to see in the morning
No I can’t no more
Coronavirus
But for now I will fight you.
I wish you were gone
Coronavirus
I am stuck inside for now
I want to get out
Coronavirus
I will try to stay strong now
I know I can fight
Claude B, 8th grade
At times I want to go out, you're there with us.
I miss being able to go to school without you here.
You make us feel miserable with your symptoms.
Your pandemic that you have created is frightening.
I miss my loved ones that you have blocked me from seeing.
I wish you could just vanish Covid-19.
Kevin T, 8th grade
I saw a fish in carnival
I play the game and won the fish
I bring it home
And put on the table
And went to sleep
And when I wake up it died
Ivan H, 7th grade

The two hours that I play soccer,
The hours that two teams play,
The best hours in the week ,
The hollow hours.
No one feels good as I am playing soccer like I do
Stephanie A, 7th grade

You said you’d love me till the day I die
But I think that by now we both know that’s a lie.
You said you wouldn’t leave me alone . But yet I’m here all on my own,
With nobody to call home
And I wish I could say I hate you
Because you left me sad and blue
But I won’t lie that I don’t miss you
I am having a huge heartache
But it was always just yours to break
I’m more angry at myself than you
Because I don’t hate you even when I should
And as the sun shall rise and find your eyes
You will feel the pain I felt inside. Daniela L, 7th grade
