A kind, generous pixie named Pinky lived in fairyland. Fairyland was gigantic, with so much magic buried in the heart of it. Elves sat on spotted toadstools, and lots of tiny folk busily rushed through the pine trees! There were pixies, gnomes, fairies and dwarfs.
Pinky the pixie usually wore a pink pointed hat and orange, flat shoes. He was very small, about the size of your legs. Pinky always helped anyone he met, but his favourite thing was to play with the fairies.

One day, as Pinky was coming back from his friend’s birthday party, he found that he lost his way to his house. Pinky saw a creaky, old, wooden house positioned in the middle of two toadstools. He knocked loudly on the door to find out if someone knew the way to his house.
A gnome opened the door. He was a bad, terrifying gnome. He was really ugly. He had sticking out ears, twisted hair coming from the side of his face, and had a very cross expression. He would always force people to do what he wanted them to do, but Pinky did not know this.

When he entered the house, the gnome locked the door and made Pinky his prisoner. The gnome made Pinky serve him food and then Pinky had to wash his dishes.
This happened for some seemingly long weeks. “Please,” Pinky pleaded to the gnome “can you let me out?” The gnome didn’t let him. So, Pinky decided to escape from the gnome’s house.
That night, he sneaked outside his room quietly when the gnome didn’t see him. Pinky didn’t even find the door at first because it was so dark! When he finally found it, he saw that it was golden, with tiny bits of emerald clinging tightly to it.
When he tried pulling and pushing the strong door, he found that it was locked. Pinky couldn’t find the keys, because the gnome always had it in his pocket. When he found that he couldn’t open the door, he was very disappointed and then gave a sigh of frustration and went back to sleep.
