Chapter One
Lily started walking to school. "Come on, Lily!" Her brother, Miles said. "Ugh, it's not like school is starting anytime soon." Lily responded. "I know, but I wanna meet up with Marcus! He told me he would meet me at the football field!" Miles shot back. Lily sighed. Lily was in middle-school with her 'brother'. Lily was adopted. At least that's what her parents said. Lily had white-blond hair and icy blue eyes. She loved light blue and her favorite season was winter. Lily lived in Germany and had a thick accent. Today was the last day of school before spring break. When Miles and Lily arrived at school, Marcus, a boy in Miles' class, walked up to them. "Hey, Miles. So ya brought yer sis with ya, eh?" He said. Lily wrinkled up her nose. She hated Marcus. "Yeah, I did. So, let's play video games after school, okay? We'll play Fortnite." "Yeah, sure." Marcus replied. Lily sighed and walked off to
class. She arrived at her classroom at 8:05, a couple minutes before the bell rang. Her teacher, Mrs. Gilded, waited at her desk for her students. There were already seventeen students here. She was waiting for three more people. Ugh, Miles, Marcus, and Harry aren't here. They are all gonna get detention. A few moments later they arrived and school begun. They had a test about algebra, and Lily was pretty sure she failed. Suddenly, in the middle of the test, Lily's stomach gurgled. She didn't feel too good. She ran to the bathroom, without an excuse, and collapsed on the floor. Her eyes turned a blinding white and she started to have visions. Memories flooded her brain that were not her own. Dragons, fighting to the death. Dragons, walking around an ice palace. Dragons, fire against ice, day against night. A cage with an ice dragon pacing around in it. Dragons, fighting everywhere. A blinding white light. Suddenly, the visions stopped. The bathroom door
opened, revealing a frowning Mrs. Gilded. "Lily Flowergale, come to Principle Johnas' office."
Chapter Two
The clock ticked endlessly in Mr. Johnas' office. Mr. Johnas stared at Lily, frowning. Finally, he started talking. "So, you ran out of class without an excuse? That is not acceptable, young lady." Lily hung her head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Johnas. I really didn't feel well and I thought if I didn't make a break for it, I would puke." The man studied Lily for a second, then sighed. "Lily, this is the third time you have done this this month. Are you sure you're okay?" "Yes, Mr. Johnas. I'm fine." Mr. Johnas frowned, then sighed again. "Very well, then. You may leave. But, Lily, if you do this again, we will have to expel you." Lily's heart skipped a beat. Expel me?! They will expel me!? But all she could do was nod. She trudged out of the office and finished her day of school. Finally, after what seemed hours, the bell rang and Lily walked home. That night, Lily had a dream. She was an Ice dragon, kneeling in
front of a sea dragon. Suddenly, another ice dragon popped up behind her. "Frostbite! It's me, Snowstorm! Your brother! I'm dream visiting you! You were captured by Queen Coral during the war and transformed into a scavenger! To turn back into yourself, journey to the Green Mountain! There chant A dragon today, a dragon tomorrow, and you will be back! Please, sister. Please give it a try!" Then, the Ice dragon faded away and Lily woke up. Hmm, I wonder what that was all about....maybe I'll try what the dragon said. I doubt it's real, though, but I can always try.... Lily thought. She glanced outside. It was dark out. Her clock read 12:00. "Perfect." Lily whispered. She jumped out of bed and got dressed. She tip-toed down the hall into the kitchen and grabbed some food. Then, she put it in her backpack and sneaked out the window. She bolted across the street into the forest. She knew about Green Mountain; she had been there many times as
a kid, so she knew the way. Lily walked to a meadow she knew in the forest and set up camp. She rested for a bit and ate an apple, then packed up and kept going. She reached the mountain's bottom when the sun started to rise. She began climbing the mountain's trail. She was very careful; you really didn't want to fall off the mountain. She turned a corner. Rocks flew off the mountain. Lily gasped, losing her balance. Luckily, she managed to grab onto a rock and steady herself. The wind whistled through her hair, blowing it in her face. Lily grabbed a hair tie and tied her hair back. Then, she kept going. She climbed and climbed. Lily started worrying about oxygen. She knew that she wouldn't started losing oxygen until she got higher up. Suddenly, when she turned a corner, she found a mountain lion in her face.
