Once upon a time, there was a king named Midas who only loved three things in the world: his daughter, his rose garden, and gold!

One day, King Midas took a walk in his rose garden. He saw a man lying on the ground. This man seemed very sick, so the king brought him back to his castle.

The next day, the man woke up feeling a lot better. He talked to the king over breakfast, telling him that he's a servant of Dionysus, the god of fun.

The king decided to take the man back to his owner. Dionysus was so thankful the king had taken such good care of his servant and friend that he said he would grant the king one wish.

After just a second, King Midas excitedly wished that everything he touched would turn into gold. Dionysus knew the king's wish was foolish, but had no choice but to keep his promise.

King Midas rushed back to his castle, excited to test out his new power. He first touched a flower, and it instantly turned into gold! He touched a fountain. He touched a vase. He touched the walls. Everything he touched turned into gold!

YAY!
The king was so happy! He ran around touching everything and yelling in excitement. To celebrate, he shouted for his servants to prepare him lots of food.
