lived near a magic lake where she grew lots of flowers
and played in the clouds.
One day a group of phoenixes appeared in the sky.
The lead phoenix came forward and hissed, “This is our
land now, Pegasus. We are taking this lake from you.
There are more of us and we have decided we want this
place for ourselves. Our magic is stronger than yours.”
The Pegasus knew what the phoenixes had said was true
and she did not have a choice. She had to leave her home.

When she got there she smiled at the mermaids and asked,
"Hello! Can I make my home here on the beach with you?"
The princess mermaid laughed and said, "We don't want
you here. This is a place only for mermaids."
Pegasus frowned and asked, "But can't I live here too? I
won't be any bother, I promise!"
The prince mermaid shook his head and told Pegasus, "No,
only mermaids can live here. Mermaids are the best creatures and
we don't share out lands with other kinds of creatures. We're the
best and we won't have any less!" With a sad nod Pegasus flew
away.2

lots of gold and other kinds of beautiful materials. What Pegasus found
there was not beautiful at all.
"This land is mine! I already called it!" Yelled the big green monster. He
threw his hands up in the air in anger while the floating blue genie laughed
at him.
"This land is not yours! I have called the right side of the stone path. I
have already claimed it and you cannot have it."
The werewolf shook his head with a growl. "I called the mountain!
None of you are allowed to try and take it from me!"
Pegasus was much too wise to stay there and join in the argument. She
knew it would be no use to even ask if she could have a piece of land
when the others were already fighting to fiercely for it.3

Leprechauns were a nice people who were always welcoming.
When she arrive she saw that the poor Leprechauns were
being forced to use their magic to make flowers grow for
the Mean Minotaur.
The Mean Minotaur was not letting the Leprechauns dance
or sing like they liked to. They had to grow flowers all day
long. When Pegasus asked the Mean Minotaur why he was making
the Leprechauns work he told him that he needed the Leprechauns
to make the flowers for him so that he could eat them.
Pegasus knew that there was no hope in her finding a home there.
She flew away, searching for another place to call home.4

down and try and find help. The Purple Queen was
ranting to one of the man-servants.
"They will never defeat us! They have silly swords and
bows and arrows but we have magic! They can never
take our kingdom when we have magic!"
Pegasus tried to speak but the Purple Queen continued to
rant and rave. She knew that she couldn't find any help
here while the Queen was so busy with her own work.5

a giant and a serpent woman arguing.
"You have to go! I won't let you take the beach away
from me!" The serpent woman insisted at the top of her
lungs.
"I want to set up my house here! The ocean is the best
place for me to live!" The giant told her. It seemed
everyone wanted someone else's land! Pegasus knew
better than to land and get in the middle of their quarrel6

and the trees grew tall. She was greeted by a amiable centaur.
"Hello, friend! Welcome to our town! Are you looking for a place to
stay?" Pegasus nodded enthusiastically.
"Can I stay here?" The winged horse asked hopefully.
"Of course. But first I have to know, do you believe
in fairies?"
Pegasus thought about it for a moment before shaking her head. "Well
you can only live here if you believe in fairies." The centaur told her.
Pegasus knew that she couldn't stay. The centaur offered to teach her
about fairies but even after his speeches she didn't have faith. The
centaur sent her away.

out exploring. The were arguing about who had found the
big rock first and who should get to have it. The wolf had
been living on the rock for along time but the mummy and
the gnome insisted it was theirs now.
"You can't take it from me! The Purple Queen won't allow it!"
The wolf exclaimed. The mummy and the gnome knew that to
be true so instead they decided to head off into the woods and
explore the rest. Almost all of the forest had yet to be explored
so that meant there were plenty of places for the mummy and
gnome to make their homes.8

They were hard at work. The ants were famous because
they all lived in such large colonies with one another
and were always working on expansion and growth.
The ants had colonies all over the world but Pegasus
knew this was not the place for her.9
