Dear Diary, 5/8/2020
I'm sorry, the plan had to get delayed because Ally decided to carry me out of Hannah's house. There was no way for me to run away and make it look like I got lost by accident. Plus I needed a new diary to write what happens when I run away, obviously! I found this book in Ally's closet, luckily all the pages were blank. In case I get put in an adoption shelter and get adopted, I'll have to mail this diary to Ally so she knows that I found a place to live. Whether it's better or not, I don't know.
I think that I'll leave my old diary hidden in this house. That way, if Ally finds it, she'll understand why I decided to run away. Anyway, since Hannah knows that I did get back to my house, since she saw me get into the car, I'll just have to make up another excuse. What if I say that Ally told me to go play in the yard and leave her alone, and I got lost because I fell on the other side of the fence. This way, Hannah would be kinda of mad at Ally and not at me. She'll just think that the fence was too high for me to climb up. After all, I'm not that tall.
I'm heading for the yard now. I'll write back when I'm on the other side... of the fence.
Dear Diary,
Ally's mom thought that I wanted to go play outside, and opened the door for me. Then she just walked away, I guess even she cared about me more than Ally. I'm on the other side of the fence, and I already feel lost. Maybe I should take this to my advantage and explore the world. It's been almost a year that I've just been roaming within the house perimeters.
Let's see, there's an old alleyway just a few yards away, and there's a path leading to a pond nearby. I need to make sure that no one spots me throughout my runaway. I know that some people will definitely try to get me to an adoption shelter. In that case, my only safe bet is the alleyway. I doubt that anyone would try to walk through that. But do I really think it's all that safe to go through there? I don't even know what's on the other side! What if it's a busy road, with heaps of people walking and driving? What if a bunch of people notice me, and try to get me to a shelter?!
Dear Diary,
The curious side of me got the best of me. I couldn't help but explore into that alleyway. There wasn't anything exciting at the end, unless you find a dead end with garbage dumps to be interesting. Anyway, I feel lost. I know that my house is literally in front of me, but I don't mean lost in that way. I mean that I feel lost, because I don't know what in the world to do! Should I go to unseen areas, or should I just stay a few paces away from home, hidden so that no one would find me?
But wouldn't that just be boring. If that was my plan, I could have just hidden at home and came out late at night to get some food.
Whatever.
I'll stop being a scaredy-cat and explore! I'll write back tomorrow, when I have hopefully found a new and interesting place. I think that's a great system. I'll write in this journal whenever I find a new place!
Dear Diary,
It's been maybe a hour, and I managed to already find something exciting! Currently, I'm a hiding a few paces away from a campsite. There's a woman who is currently roasting some marshmallows. I think that maybe once she's decided to sleep or explore the forest, I could sneak away a few of those marshmallows.

"A Cat's Diary 2 Hazel & The Runaway Part 1"
In part two, Hazel uses this diary as her way to write everything that happens in her runaway adventure! She decides that if she gets put in an adoption center and gets adopted, she'd mail this to Ally to say that she's found a new home. Her plan is to run away, explore the world, and return home, hoping that Ally would take better care and pay more attention to her. However, she faces many challenges along the way! Read the book to find out exactly what happens.
Make sure to read the first book, so you know why Hazel runs away, and how she came upon this idea. The link is above!
