I dedicate this book to my 3rd grade teacher Ms. Sukheet because she told me to do this! Just kidding... thanks for the awesome idea!

The life cycle of the butterfly is very interesting to learn about. This book will teach you all you need to know!

It all starts when female butterfly lays its eggs on a leaf or near a flower. So when the caterpillar comes out it has something to eat.

When the tiny caterpillars hatch. They start eating the leaf that their mom had left for them.

As they continue eating their moms leave. The caterpillars get bigger and start to eat other leafs and finally get big enough to go into their cocoon.
As soon as the caterpillar enters the cocoon, the cocoon turns hard. The caterpillar sleeps in it for five to 21 days.
After this long period of time the newly formed butterfly starts to crawl out. But it is not ready to fly!!

The butterfly has to wait for its wings to dry and then it is ready to take off to the sky!
Afterwards most butterflies will only live for two weeks.
